There was a ladies swimming competition to swim breaststroke from Santa Monica to Catalina; a brunette, a redhead and a blonde were the only entrants.
After 14 hrs the brunette got ashore and was declared the fastest breaststroker. Some 40 minutes later a tired redhead struggled up the beach to the applause of the crowd.   6 hours later the blonde emerged from the water and promptly collapsed in front of the worried onlookers. When quizzed by reporters as to why she took so long to complete the race she replied; "I dont want to lsound like a sore loser, but I think the other two were using their arms!"
