StressFree: It's faster, cleaner, more practical and never crashes like firefox does all the time. I'm not even going to mention IE...it's horrible.

Search google chrome vs fireforx on Google...you'll see that the general consensus is unanimous for Google Chrome.

Here's one link that goes into further detail....

Tony thanks first of all, I read thru all four pages of this link and stick for now with Firefox.Here is what they had to say after comparing the three major Search Engines.This is a copy ;

For now, we're sticking with Firefox. For all its flaws, it's still the most expandable and customisable of the three, it doesn't look like Baby's First Browser and the ability to block in-page annoyances without having to muck around with proxies more than makes up for the odd crash. Give Chrome extensions, ad-blocking and skins, though, and we may well change our minds.

I'm using seamonkey ( a variation of firefox ), it is working rather well for me. I also like Orb from BEos but its stable however old software.

I have tried them all...currently using firefox....some I know use Opera....to me..it is more than just a browser problem.....Firefox is tricky, but has a good help forum and has improved its latest version....seems to work better than IE....Sharon

StressFree: I've been using Google Chrome for about a month now.

It blows away Firefox...

Update.I got Internet Explorer installed, which I meanwhile don't use anymore. Then I downloaded Firefox which I used until an Hour ago.Google Chrome is what I am using now.It is faster and very simple.

So in retrospect I am answering my own question.

Try also Maxthon - it's also free. It's a very nice one, but suddenly it started crashing, that's why I went to firefox. It might have to do with some settings, I don't know! But a few features in Maxthon are very nice, like copying the whole page as a jpg file, coz saving it as a file often loses pictures, when I want to look at it offline. And you can set it up that it always opens a new tab. And when it crashes, it asks you on the next start-up, if you want to reload the last pages, so it doesn't lose the information.

Hi,

Explorer v Firefox

I tried firefox and got fed up with it.
It saves downloads very differently to IE. There is a whole rigmarole to go through of permissions and the like.
The downloaded files end up on your desktop,,(something else to do,,clear those folders to where you want them)
IE saves the download direct to where you want it on your hard drive.

Certain web pages will not work in FFox.
Image mapping (for example)needs exactly the same command line in HTML,,, EXCEPT for a "#" sign,,,,no # ,,,no cigar,,the web page will not work,,,,add the "#",,,,it will not work in IE.

Fire fox did themselves,,they screwed with the html protocols and caused more problems than resolveing any.

As for open ports and security,,,Put yer hand in yer pocket and buy a proper firewall and anti-virus,,,,then those issues are dealt with in a far more profficient manner than firefox.

The are more issues about FFox when it comes to needing things microsoft,,,it won't let you do things,,and you end up,,re -initialising IE to get what you need.
More time wasted.

Thats my say on the matter.
