I appreciate
that I am here,
To face with you all,
One more year,
All my friends,
And not so friendlies,
I appreciate you all.

My friends for being
That, a friend, when
All else fails, These
Treasures hold us through
Until the end, my friends.

And I really cant
Say I have an enemy,
All though at times
People may disagree.
Even these people
Who I may rub askew
I appreciate even you.

My New Year's Determination
Is to learn more Appreciation.

A word of encouragement during a failure is worth more than an hour of praise after success.

Voltaire: Appreciation Quotes
Appreciation is a wonderful thing. It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.

Albert Schweitzer: Appreciation Quotes
At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe: Appreciation Quotes
Correction does much, but encouragement does more. Encouragement after censure is as the sun after a shower.

Henry Clay: Appreciation Quotes
Courtesies of a small and trivial character are the ones which strike deepest in the gratefully and appreciating heart.

Encouraged people achieve the best; dominated people achieve second best; neglected people achieve the least.

William Arthur: Appreciation Quotes
Flatter me, and I may not believe you. Criticize me, and I may not like you. Ignore me, and I may not forgive you. Encourage me, and I may not forget you.

Cicero: Appreciation Quotes
Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others.

We are each burdened with prejudice; against the poor or the rich, the smart or the slow, the gaunt or the obese. It is natural to develop prejudices. It is noble to rise above them. ~Author Unknown

Preconceived notions are the locks on the door to wisdom. ~Merry Browne

The test of courage comes when we are in the minority. The test of tolerance comes when we are in the majority. ~Ralph W. Sockman

What is tolerance? It is the consequence of humanity. We are all formed of frailty and error; let us pardon reciprocally each other's folly - that is the first law of nature. ~Voltaire

Dusty45: The test of courage comes when we are in the minority. The test of tolerance comes when we are in the majority. ~Ralph W. Sockman

This is a key aspect of non-violence I think. Just because we have the bigger stick, doesn't give us the right to use it. Forebearance in the face of provocation is the true test of an individual, and on a larger scale, the true test of a nation.

I think true character comes from having strength, but having wisdom and excersizing tolerance. grin
