Diamond789: Distractions !Instead of the 700 Billion going to help Americans loosing their homes and facing poverty,it has disappeared!
7.If enough distractions haven't come down on our heads in the last months then consider the news released at the beginning of December that the Iraq war has cost us 5 Trillion dollars.
Enough distractions I say!Where is that damn 700 $$ dollars?
If Congress and The Senate really gives a crap about our economy and us ,consider that, our leadership could easily freeze the prices of all goods in America coming in and going out and award each Tax paying citizen a million bucks to stimulate the economy!

I see it the same here too - they are all tied in together, all our governments are already the same - they are run by people who only see money as important - human lives are disposable............

WhatUwish4: I don't see that we have any other choice but to fire them all. Make it easy and just DON'T vote for them again...

We'd just get another bunch like them. Sorry, but yes, I'm cynical about politics. It doesn't matter which power-hungry exploiters are in there, really. This is no longer "government by the people for the people"...hasn't been for a long time. It's government for the politicians by the politicians. And we, the sheeple, allowed it to happen slowly because we became complacent. We didn't keep a sharp enough eye, and we treated those who tried to warn us like they were crazy. So...we reap what we sowed.

Galactic_bodhi: Its not the elected we have to worry about. Its the entrenched beauracracy that is dangerous. People with tenure who's only interest is in perpetuating the beauracracy and not the interests of the people the system ostensibly serves.

J. Edgar Hoover is a prime example of a past 'crat that became dangerous and a liability to the country. Please for the love of God, pay attention to the men behind the curtain, and not all the flashing lights and pretty bells.

I just spent an hour searching the net as to the party affiliation of J. Edgar Hoover and came up with nothing. He served under 8 presidents both Democrat and Republican alike. It appears he was neither a Dem or Repub. but the sole member of the Hoover party.

WhatUwish4: I agree completely, but the point is to find a way to send a message loud and clear that the American people (or any peoples for that matter), will take control and not allow it again.

Have you a better suggestion? It will just keep going business as usual if we don't do something...

I agree Ms. K. You are dead on.thumbs up

All we can do is vote and hope that more than 50% of the population agrees with us.

Democracy is the worst form of government...except for all the other ones.

Okay, in seriously thinking about this, here are a few ideas I had, although I'm still working on how to actually implement them:

1) We have to regain control of our media, its integrity to objective reporting, and its independence from multi-national ownership, and thus, multi-national influence. Let's make American News American again.

2) We have to regain control of our own tax system. The IRS (part of the beauracray I was talking about) is often used as a club to intimidate anyone who wants to take action against the "wizards" behind the curtain.

3) Our penal code has to be completely revised. We spend billions of dollars feeding and housing people who are not criminal but diseased. Drug crimes are largely a health and treatment issue, NOT a criminal issue, and the ROI on treatment is far better than imprisonment. Yet another Bureacracy feeding itself at the cost of its victims.

4) We need to find a way to eliminate lobbyists from the political process...get the big money out of civil service and civil service will become exactly that again.

It would if this were a true democracy, but unfortunately its a Republic, which means we have a representative government, and our representatives aren't representin'wink
