Natalia Oreiro - Tu Veneno
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05BLPpdV67o
(since we can post foreign songs)

Tuve tu veneno
Tuve tu amor y tambien tu fuego
Tuve tu veneno

Tuve tu veneno
Tuve tu amor y tambien tu fuego
Tuve tu veneno
Tuve tu vida y ya no la quiero

Tuve tu veneno
Tuve tu amor y tambien tu fuego
Tuve tu veneno
Tuve tu vida y ya no la quiero.

Fuego que quema, pasion que envenena
Te digo, te digo y te digo otra vez
No es tu veneno el que quiero beber
Ni probar ni volver a tener

Tuve tu veneno
Tuve tu amor y tambien tu fuego
Tuve tu veneno
Tuve tu vida y ya no la quiero

Tuve tu veneno
Tuve tu amor y tambien tu fuego
Tuve tu veneno
Tuve tu vida y ya no la quiero.

Robert, awesome song...and yes, I'd rather live now while I'm alive!

Lana, of course you can post foreign songs. It's an international forum, right? Looks like a beautiful song. I got the gist of it.

Thank you, my friends! Happy New Year! wine

That one always makes me hungry. grin

I can probably find my mood in any Jimmy Buffett song, that's hard to say about other singers.

I may just sling out Jimmy Buffett songs on this thread when I get a mood change again. wine

Cheeseburger in paradise
By: jimmy buffett
1978
Tried to amend my carnivorous habits
Made it nearly seventy days
Losin' weight without speed, eatin' sunflower seeds
Drinkin' lots of carrot juice and soakin' up rays

But at night i'd had these wonderful dreams
Some kind of sensuous treat
Not zuchinni, fettucini or bulghar wheat
But a big warm bun and a huge hunk of meat

Chorus:
Cheeseburger in paradise (paradise)
Heaven on earth with an onion slice (paradise)
Not too particular not too precise (paradise)
I'm just a cheeseburger in paradise

Heard about the old time sailor men
They eat the same thing again and again
Warm beer and bread they said could raise the dead
Well it reminds me of the menu at a holiday inn

Times have changed for sailors these days
When i'm in port i get what i need
Not just havanas or bananas or daiquiris
But that american creation on which i feed

Chorus:
Cheeseburger in paradise (paradise)
Medium rare with mustard 'be nice (paradise)
Heaven on earth with an onion slice (paradise)
I'm just a cheeseburger in paradise

I like mine with lettuce and tomato
Heinz 57 and french fried potatoes
Big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer
Well good god almighty which way do i steer for my

Chorus:
Cheeseburger in paradise (paradise)
Makin' the best of every virtue and vice (paradise)
Worth every damn bit of sacrifice (paradise)
To get a cheeseburger in paradise
To be a cheeseburger in paradise
I'm just a cheeseburger in paradise

Coda:
I like mine with lettuce and tomato
Heinz 57 and french fried potatoes
Big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer
Well good god almighty which way do i steer for my

Don't know about beautiful, but I do love it. The chorus loosely translated is:

I had your poison
I had your love and also your fire
I had your poison
I had your life and no longer want it

This how I feel CS is.

Bama Breeze - Jimmy Buffett

At the Bama Breeze
You can shoot some pool down there
You can act a fool down there
You can play it cool down there

At the Bama Breeze
You can drink some beer down there
Argue, laugh, and cheer down there
Pass another year down there

Jimmy got caught smoking a joint
Out behind the bar
Sittin' in his car
And they took him to jail
The tip jar paid his bail

In 1984 Mick Jagger
Passed through town
Bought the house a round
Signed his name on the wall
In the Ladies bathroom stall... yeah

At the Bama Breeze
I turned 21 down there
Had too much fun down there
Stumbled out with the sun down there

Saturday Night the Bouncer Grady
Lets the ladies in free with the fake I.D
And the short-enough skirt
Yea figures what the hell could it hurt

Second set the owner Lulu
Get's up with the band
A beer in her hand
And sings "Freebird" slow
Then she raises a toast
Here's to Ronnie and the boys
Now everybody make some noise!

At the Bama Breeze
You're one of our own down there
You never drink alone down there
Good God I feel at home down there

At the Bama Breeze
You're one of our own down there
You never drink alone down there
Good God I feel at home down there

cheers

And if that's Italian, it's close enough to Spanish that I used to be able to get the gist of it when I was fluent. wine My roommate at the Language Institute was studying Italian, and I could understand most of it because of my Spanish...which I kept fluent while I studied German.

Memories. sigh

Robert, that one made me think of my late husband. He spent some years in Key West, and told many stories of those times. It was a happy time for him.

Anyway, yes, I see why it makes you think of CS...it's a great place to hang out. wine

Ah well, time to act like a responsible adult for a bit. Housework and errands call. wine

It is Spanish. I'm not fluent. Learned enough in high school and college to get by. Trying to learn more, but I need to stick to learning one language at a time, and right now that's Polish. Last week, I got the two confused. It was quite funny. laugh

I did that in high school. I was taking French and Spanish at the time...and thankfully, both teachers knew it. So, they just laughed as they wrote notes on my tests to correct me in which language the test was supposed to be! laugh laugh

It's A Heartache Bonnie Tyler

It's a heartache, nothing but a heartache
Hits you when it;s too late, hits you when you're down
It's a fools game, nothing but a fools game
Standing in the cols rain, feeling like a clown

It's a heartache, nothing but a heartache
Love him till your arms break, then he'll let you down
It ain't right with love to share
When you find he does'nt care for you
It ain't wise to need someone as much as I depended on you

Oh, it's a heartache, nothing but a heartache
Hits you when it's too late, hits you when you're down
It's a fools game, nothing but a fools game
Standing in the cold rain feeling like a clown

It ain't fair with love to share
When you find he doesn't care for you
It ain't wise to need someone the way I depended on you
Oh, it's a heartache, nothing but a heartache
You love hin till your arms break then he'll let you down
It's a fools game nothing but a fools game
Standing in the cold rain feeling like a clown
