Besides the song I posted which is really the way I am feeling
today, there are a couple of others that I really relate to.
Thank you Dru for starting such an awesome thread. I am such
a music lover, most all types.

The light from the window is fading
You turn on the night
The sound from the avenue's calling you
Open your eyes

And when you find
You're spending your time
Wanting for words
But never speak
You tell yourself
That the things you need come slow
But inside you just don't know

My, my, my
Let your bright light shine
Let your words live on
Far beyond this life
Beyond this life

Hold on to anything
Everything's over and done
Has the fear taken over you
Tell me
Is that what you want
To make up your life

Time after time
You're falling behind
Hold on to me
Never leave
Forever be what you mean to me right now
Don't you feel better now

DarkKnight2032: I sometimes think life is my chains, but I will do what I can to make me happy.

Life, my dear bro, is what you make of it. It's only chains if you allow it to be. I felt that way once...and then learned how to break free. Never again will I be in chains for any reason. That's why I liked that song "I Get Knocked Down"...cuz I really do get right back up. Nothing gets me down for long, nothing ties me down, and nothing imprisons me in misery. Life is way too short.

This doesn't mean I don't love, or have roots. But, they are things I choose freely, and give freely. Those are the things that keep me grounded while I fly...my roost to which to return.

''Unwell''
:Matchbox 20

All day staring at the ceiling
Making friends with shadows on my wall
All night hearing voices telling me
That I should get some sleep
Because tomorrow might be good for something

Hold on
Feeling like I'm heading for a breakdown
And I don't know why

But I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell
I know right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired
I know right now you don't care
But soon enough you're gonna think of me
And how I used to be...me

I'm talking to myself in public
Dodging glances on the train
And I know, I know they've all been talking bout me
I can hear them whisper
And it makes me think there must be something wrong with me
Out of all the hours thinking
Somehow I've lost my mind

But I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell
I know right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired
I know right now you don't care
But soon enough you're gonna think of me
And how I used to be

I've been talking in my sleep
Pretty soon they'll come to get me
Yeah, they're taking me away

I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell
I know right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired
I know right now you don't care
But soon enough you're gonna think of me
And how I used to be

Yeah, how I used to be
How I used to be
Well, I'm just a little unwell
How I used to be
How I used to be

Thank you. I'll have to listen to it later. I'm not familiar with Rob Thomas at all (that I know of, anyway).

Now, I do have to run off to do those chores. I'll be back in a bit. Have fun with this, everyone!

Happy New Year, Joel. wine

And another I'll have to listen to upon my return! Though I've heard of Matchbox 20, I don't think I've heard that song.

I love getting introduced to new songs and artists! applause hug

T/Y Dru, I started a thread about it but did not say exactly
all of what I am feeling. I feel your energy and I send
mine back to you, what little positive there is at this
time. hug

Rob Thomas has some great songs Dru. Another one of his
that I really like is Ever The Same.

Thank you, Joel. I don't know why, but that song finally unlocked the tears that haven't been able to fall for two days. I love you for that, my friend. hug

Here is another classic I enjoy listening to

I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues - Elton John

Don't wish it away
Don't look at it like it's forever
Between you and me I could honestly say
That things can only get better

And while I'm away
Dust out the demons inside
And it won't be long before you and me run
To the place in our hearts where we hide

And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Time on my hands could be time spent with you
Laughing like children, living like lovers
Rolling like thunder under the covers
And I guess that's why they call it the blues

Just stare into space
Picture my face in your hands
Live for each second without hesitation
And never forget I'm your man

Wait on me girl
Cry in the night if it helps
But more than ever I simply love you
More than I love life itself
