The First Awful Truth is that most of us simply do not love ourselves enough to feel that we have love to give. We often feel hollow, empty inside, and we search for someone to fill us up. Make us feel loved.

Don't ask to get love. Ask to be love. To be a true lover. Someone who is so full of love and respect for self that they have an abundant heart full of radiance. They have tons of love to give. These are the true lovers of the world.

druidess6308: I've given mine away several times. Yes, always by losing it have I found it. By learning that a broken heart is not the end of the world, I've gained strength enough to give it again. I never fear doing so...knowing that I'll heal if it's broken again. To do other than give it fully is not living, to me.

I was comparing making love with Sundays....where I grew up in New Jersey.

Every Sunday was a special day. Some times you went to dinner You hopped in the car and went t a diner and had a great dinner. The was a goal and a purpose. But it was always a good time!

This is sex Sometimes you got in the car and just drove. You went for a "Sunday Drive". You took your time, you stopped to enjoy the scenery. You were in no hurry to get home and where you went wasn't important. You just enjoyed the wonders and the beauty of the trip.

druidess6308: I know so many who can't do this, and thereby don't live, either. They're always miserable...and cut off from the core of living. So afraid to let anyone in, so they push everyone away. I was like that once. I learned that living fully means you risk pain and rejection. And through experiencing that pain and rejection you grow stronger. And your heart can risk again. Yes, people will reject you. Or leave you. Or die. But when you give love fully, you love yourself fully first...and you live fully. Without that, you're already dead...inside. And that's no way to live.
