I don't mind the IM on. All you have to do is check first, using the menu on the left of your profile, Where it says my IM requests. Then see whom it is before you click yes or no.

Technically, I thought we were supposed to get a message sying whom, where , etc cet not a generic " A CS wants to IM you" message.

I too have had 3 to 5 IM's pop up and open w/o asking, while being in IM with someone. I found it very unsettling told the mods to make sure I get a yes/no accept menue for IM.

Yes, I know. I turned it off ages ago. You will still get notification of who has tried to IM you, but at least they won't get through. I have added on my profile, that my IM is turned off, so I shall see who actually reads my profile, and it's very short so not much to plough through.

You're welcome, Tip. I turned mine off ages ago after hearing about this problem. I get enough weirdos emailing, don't need them IMing, too. wine

If it's any consolation....it ain't just you ladies that had to turn the damn thing off.....

I did too....too many hassles coming on line at once, and yes, it does block your computer when it happens.....
