Photos -- why don't some people have them? Just curious.

I notice quite a few people with no photos, and wonder why that is, usually. Are people afraid of being recognized on a a dating site, or don't they like their appearance, or don't they have any good pix handy to upload? I had all of those excuses myself, but decided that it was better to put up a photo anyway. Everyone says it increases your chance of meeting someone. Now people who have to look at my face all the time may regret my decision, but I would urge others to follow my example. I am curious to see what connecting and SexyLady24 actually look like.
Don't post anything as eyecatching as FoxyEyes did,
though, too distracting.

Yes, I have frequent fantasies about seeing you on waking up in the morning with no make up -- they haven't included the curlers in your hair, but I never did see much use for the damn things. Anyway, women, please, look your best if you must, but show us a photo a least. It is so hard to address a message to someone without knowing what they look like.

Is it a technical problem? Do you have a digital
camera, or a scanner, or a webcam?

I hate to burst your bubble, but that is NOT a photo of you,it is a sketch.Maybe if you put a REAL pictue up, you might get more responses! It looks like a police sketch and that might scare a lot of women off!

well, maybe it's time to rotate again. this is one thing
in my rotation. It will take them awhile, they always
have to approve them again, even if they hava approved
them before

Hi all, I just added a photo last night, this is the first time I have ever put a pic on a dating site, I was always just a little nervous about having my pic on the www, but this is such a nice group of people, I thought what the heck, they might want to see who they are talking to. So here I am.

Ok, so I finally found a long-lost picture of myself. Although, it's a little over a year old. I don't have red hair anymore, and it's longer now, more like shoulder length. Also, I am wearing contacts in this picture instead of my kickass Prada frames.

You know the old saying, "No tickie? No ride!"

Well, that is how I feel about contacting women without a photo. I actually have contacted a few back when... and, after much pain, effort, and coaxing, I have found that without exception EVERY ONE OF THEM had perverted or outright ignored the proper use of such well known English words as "attractive, average build, muscular, good looking" and so on.... I mean, why would someone live in denial of their own reality and think they can actually pull off something they are not? There are plenty of people out there for each and every body type, appearance, and so on.... If you are a buffalo just say so and look for your bull-in-shining-armour! He is out there! But don't tell someone who has a personal preference for "slim to thin" that you are "average" when you are over 300 pounds at 5' 2" !!!! LOL

Speaking for myself here. I don't ever like my picture taken. I don't see myself as looking like it appears. I think i look much better than that. I have had other's to say the same. Also,if it was on there, was i being selected because how i look?... And only how i look?? No. for me its guess and mystery for those out there. Besides some peoples picture isn't "how" they look anyway...they show something of themselves from yester-year.

That may be how you feel, but from the point of view
of someone trying to get to know you, it is very difficult
without a picture. I think the answer is to do what
a pro does and take lots and lots of pictures, dozens
or even hundreds, and then pick the best. Or the least
bad. Do it yourself, if you want, with a small web cam,
it will not be perfect, you will look better than it,
and yes, you will still feel uncomfortable about being
selected on the basis of a picture, but it is much much
easier for the person getting to know you. Without a
pix they are unlikely to make the effort, and you will
get few serious messsages if any.
