Just because it's a certain date on the calandar doesn't mean people stop yearning to be free and have their own country or stop launching morters and rockets and air strikes. This may be the BEST time to discuss this topic and resolve that 2009 all this hostility ends and Palistine will have their own country and Israel can live in peace. That's all they want anyway.

Moreover, when a nation of Palestine was offered upon the creation of Israel, the Arabs rejected it in favor of pushing for the destruction of Israel instead. We see how that effort has played out over the last 60 years. We should of course turn our back on the only true and functioning democracy in the middle east, it’s the right thing to do.

If Egypt, Jordan or Syria were to give up land in order for the Palestinians to have a country, Israel would still be in existence. That is why these countries will not allow their own countrymen back into their country. This has always been about wiping Israel from the face of the earth.

I believe that is important to look at the solutions, not the problem. That is good that you came up with some solutions. I also think that if other countries stop interfering in the other countries problems and circumstances they also find them selves more serious to resolve their problems themselves with out any interference.
