solitare: It was a shame when the old spirit of "Power To The People!" died at the end of the 60's...oh what a world it could have been had everyone really believed in it. Who knows, perhaps it can still be 'resurrected' even at this late date if peoples around the world can truly understand what is at stake...and think collectively about what they could do as in can we stop the destruction of our planet...'yes we can!'...can we stop, can we bring down these governments that wish, want and need war...'yes we can!'
Can WE, the peoples of Earth stop these governments, can we 'rise up and revolt'...'yes we can!' But do we really believe it... or do we collectively just stand by like sheep and watch our own slaughter...unfortunately, tragically, the answer to that is also 'yes, we can...'
I like your contribution. That is the dilemma: revolt or die like a poor sheep waiting for its turn at the abbatoir. The dilemma has also created two kinds of humans: "are you revolting fucked up bastard?" I would be asked by a status-quo lover, yes, one of those that read books and analyse everything, of course everything within the limits of their selfishness. One of those whose characterization would only be of some use for those that really want to go to the limits of our civilization just to create soemthing new (if it is possible at all).
No more characterization of those two kinds of humans defined by their attitude toward life. It is true that I know many people that should belong to one side or the other without even noticing it and it is true that in both sides it is possible to find bigots and peaceful characters.
Anyway, it is not a big deal that mankind gets destroyed in the end. A relief for all the species and for the planet, if something remains.
The status quo overs, the gluttons for official truths will, in the meantime, enjoy -in the spirit of Godfried Leibnitz- the best possible world.
That is good too.
