What does it mean when in a thread you see only the poster's "name" and location in the left hand column. There is no photo or inviso photo.

Curious... Is this something one can do themselves, or is this something that is done by the mods?

They left CS on their own accord or they got booted off...

thanks MB! I thought that might be the case, but I could have sworn I saw someone add a post to a thread wilst in that status. I guess I was mistaken?

People hide their profiles all the time here. They jump back and forth for whatever reason they have.I do think there is a 24 hour waiting period after you hide your profile to get back on the forums.

The thread creator may have written the thread yesterday, hid their profile, and came back today to answer the posts on the thread.

professor Ah yes, I see. That would make sense. And yes, you do have to remain hidden for 24 hours.

People have their own reasons, but I think mainly because they are being innundated with e-mails that they don't want to answer. If your profile is off, noone can e-mail you.
