Do I like being a housewife? Egads, no. I do housework because it needs to be done, but would never want to be "married" to it like the women of previous generations. And I prefer being part of an equal partnership where we both take care of the house and yard. None of it should fall just to one person, unless there's a chore that one hates so much that it's onerous to them to do it and the other doesn't mind always doing it. If both hate something that much, well...again, take turns then. It's only fair.

I was a housewife on and off for 10...loved it too...He was out of work some of the time...there was pressure, but he did not want me to work.....It was hard getting back in to the workforce after he passed...with the long gap....I have worked all of my life, since I was 15...it was a luxury for me....

Me too. I enjoyed having a man to cook special meals for and greeting him at the front door after a hard day at work.Running his bath and giving him back rubs etc.And I also enjoyed being a mom.Being a homemaker was my dream when I was growing up.After watching my mom doing what she did I wanted the very same things she had with my father.

I was a stay at home mom cause I didn't want my two sons to become latch key kids or have to be with a sitter. My late husband and I discussed before we had any children that I would stay home and he would be the sole bread winner which he did an excellent job at too.It'll be two yrs since my husband passed away but I've since began trying to go on with my life.
