Sommerauer71: Represent who we are in life?

I ask this because it has been something that since meeting with PPV, we have discussed.

I look like my pictures, coz they are me, he is the same as he portrays here, obviously he talks less than he writes, I mean honestly, most of you saw what he had written.

So, are you quieter, noisier, more shy, face to face than on here?

I have read so many times when people have met that they are not the same as they are online.

One of the things I hear people say to me is when reading my stories. They are YOU!
They are writen just like you talk.
No, eventhough I can be still I am a jakke dee jak.
When I am still I often hear what is the matter?
Nothing is the matter just wish to be quite.
I believe you would find me much the same in life as I am on here. dancing

sxc666: I certainly do not talk as openly about sex in real life Sommer. I think its good when you do actually meet people from CS in the real world I have met a few, to date all have been as in pics and personality.

There is no way on a first date with someone, I would ask if they have a hoover I can borrow

That's our Tina going for it straigh on!
Well about sex I may not go into details but have no problem talking about it freely let's say on Yahoo.
Not getting down and dirty but still in an open and honest way.
Hey, I heard a rumor that sex is here too stay so talking openly about it is no biggie for me. It is all just part of life.

my on line persona does not portay the real me. But not because I am hiding anything. I just enjoy being a mean old bastard!!

I am really a very caring and relatively happy guy.

I present a cold persona because I just didn't want to get hurt.

Now that there is someone in my life...I feel I can be me and let everyone see the other side!!

Not to worry, I am still an obnoxious twit.....but a little more lovable

sxc666: For me I think I am the same, the only difference is I am initially a bit shyer, but after a while I will just be me.

And keep me away from red wine

I don't know how to spell the word shy lol.
My problem is that my mouth at times is faster then my brain.
Writing on here instead of talking, does give us the opportunity to think first.
Lol even here I have blown it.

I know in the forums, I am much more out spoken than face to face. I am very much as my profile states, On the Quiet, Shy Side until I get to know someone.hug

vinny1967: Hi

I am only here about 6 or 8 weeks but as I said peoples personality comes thru from their postings.

Some people aren't consistent with some of their postings IMO
where they may say something to suit the thread whereby contradicting themselves from a different thread.

I have just noticed it a few times.

Tater: I agree, and then there are the ones who don't stand for what they origally say, when their post or thread is picked on, they tend to start agreeing with the other posters to avoid taking a stance....(not directed at you Vinny)

when people allow themselves to be re-directed from where they started , tells me that in real life, they will go with the crowd ( they are not their own man/woman)they are what others want them to be... I can't stand that those people....JMO I have more respect for someone who stands for something, even if I dis-agree with it......

Yep my thought too Tater handshake
Blowing with the wind is not for me.
Some like you for who you are and some don't.
That is life!

druidess6308: Yes, HJ. And that's what I seek. And so, I'm willing to be patient until I truly find it. I need a match to me, an equal partner, not someone who is looking for their "other half".

Words of wisdom from a rune reading the other day, that I'll share here:

True partnership is only achieved by separate and whole beings who retain their separateness even as they unite.

Hi wave

I think we can learn so much about people from the forums and as you say, some will like you and some wont.

Big_John: It is so easy to misunderstand emails/messages and Threads post. It is hard enough to be understood when we are face-to-face. I know many people write me once or twice then want to talk on the phone right away because they feel this way. So I believe we are all different in this internet dating world. Maybe some more than others and some less.

I agree completely. I do love the written word, but it can be easy to misinterpret. Mainly because if we were to write all our thoughts down at the time, we would need to write chapter length emails. Guaranteed that the recipient prolly would not read it all.

That said, as long as communication remains open, all can be sorted out even with the written word, without too much damage. Though I have recently experienced some exchanges with one man recently, that I can only be describe as bordering close to traumatic, and all over the written word.doh

I personally don't support the idea of jumping on the telephone after a couple of emails. In fact, I do not like to IM without first exchanging many emails. My CS 'IM' is switched off for that purpose. I am not interested, and say that on my profile (well, that is a misnomer as I only have quotes from a children's book on there). Most IM I use is with GF's here on CS. And that is pure delight.smitten

Sommerauer71: So, Tina, do you not think that places like this give us a chance to out our inner thoughts that we would perhaps not do face to face?

Honestly gozo, I am suspicious.

I got a right ticking off from PPV for dealing with the other one.

It is looking hugely familiar.
