hawk69: I undertsand what is being said about dishonesty, but I don't understand it. Why lie? The truth always comes out in the end (no pun intended). Why post pics that aren't you? Don't you think anyone will catch on? Are people that insecure? I am me and I just post as me. I don't do anything to impress anyone or mislead them because it will truly never work with anyone if your basing meeting someone with lies. Maybe I am naive, maybe you don't like me for me, but thats life. You don't like everyone you meet, and if we were all the same what be be the point? WE are all different and that is what attracts people to each other, being different in some ways and similar in others. But lying seems to me to be counter productive and a waste of time. For all anyone knows I am 75 yrs old, 856 lbs, living in a dumpster using a stolen laptop connecting to the internet via a wifi hotspot, and if I was, what would be the point? Integrety and honesty seem to have dissappeared from society and it is a shame.
Yes, it's a shame that there seems to be much less of it, but I can't agree that it's disappeared.
Like you, I'm me on here. Very much me. I was talking about that with a friend last night, and he agreed with the part about actually being more "me" online because of the topics discussed, and the way they make you think. He's not on here, but on another site, and feels the same way. And is having the same troubles I am with finding a true connection. But, we keep trying.
For me, if it happens here, it does. If it doesn't, it doesn't. It will happen where and when it's meant to...and in the meantime, I'll keep having fun here in forums.
