I can't answer for why they put their people into the direct line of deadly consequences. Do you have any ideas? Only use their people for human shields to gain pity from the world for the Hamas cause, not for the Palestinian peoples needs. It's sad when a mother is asking where their leaders are to have mercy on their children.

Well, maybe a little bit of good news out of the Gaza strip. Preliminary reports are saying Egypt has worked a deal with both Hamas and Israel for a temparary cease of hostilities so that humanatarian aid can reach the strip. It will also allow them to work with both Hamas and Israel in discussions for peace.

I hope it works to ease the tension and I applaud Egypt for their attempts.

The whole thing is propaganda as they have no hope of winning either militarily or by terrorism. Hence, their actions are taken to invoke overreaction by Israel in order to play out to the world. It's like a dog being trained by a dog that has not been trained properly, the sense is all out of it as they belive that any action they take is justified and any action taken to stop further actions they may take can be twisted to reflect the inhumanity of their enemy.

the fact that peace is required for any concrete negotiations is moot as they are so imbedded in retaliatory actions that this process would mean that they lose power in the here and now amongst their people so, hit and run tactics are the brad and butter. Even now as we speak they blame Israel for their misery in order to get mileage for the next round of attacks after the ceasefire comes into play.

One question for all:

What should Israel do to stop bombings, terrorist attacks and rockets other than what they are doing and, other than negotiations which they have tried?

Heaven forbid that adhering to ceasefires and promised points from negotiations would kill them. I mean, after all, they only have everything to gain from that method.

As I watch the dead and the dying growing in numbers, I cannot help but wonder.

This war is not about Palestinians and the Jews.

This war is about Hamas.

There is no war happening in the West Bank, thank God.

It seems that the whole thing was orchestrated to make Israel attack Gaza to inflame the rest of the world and instigate an all out attack on Israel from all sides.

It did not happen, and now Hamas are realizing they are not dragging other countries into this mess.

Let us all hope that with the efforts being done now by the international community, things may cool down a bit and sorted out without any further blood being shed.

It is only then that we may all put in our efforts for justice to be given to the Palestinian people. And stop bickering among ourselves as to who is right and who is wrong.

May whichever God you believe in help you to achieve peace.

Very astute Gonzoman however, it is a propaganda war that is in play on the Hamas side. Even when things calm down they will still emerge from under their rocks to create agitation with which to invoke more reaction they can use for the 'see what they do to us' for the world press to eat up.

An old saying is 'A Palestinian never passes up a chance to lose an opportunity' and it was as true in the seventies as it is now. They elected this scum now they reap the horrors of their non futuristic thinking.

I will never understand Hamas's continuous taunting of the Jews in Israel nor their disdain of their own people to stand on the roof of an occupied school and fire rockets into Israel knowing full well that they will be blasted back. I truly don't understand the logic of it all. It's about as clear as mud to me. How about you, is it any clearer? The people are being used as human vests according to CNN.

I am pleased to note I am no the only one who thinks like this.
