It said that the Palestinian guards on the other side of the gate who are responsible for the opening of the gates have abandoned their posts. What are the Palestinians doing to get the supplies in if they are not there to open the gates? The Israelis have allowed the humanitarian supplies to go in but there is no one to allow them in. I'm a bit confused on this one here. Perhaps Hamas leaders have some type of idea in mind for which of his soldiers or which one of them should be going to the gate to let the supplies in?

Condi Rice for all her faults is a "Hawk", and therefore is not a person of shall we say reliable moral fortitude after the fiasco that has come about after the "Hawks" got their way up on the Hill and pulled a "fast one" on the public to get and maintain the moral backing of entering Iraq on the basis of WMD's, then regime change and then anything else they can come up with.

The part i am trying to convey is they have no objectivity, no neutrality, no respect from the International Community, not just from Arabs that won't trust them, but i wouldn't either.

As you know i know more than a little about the Intelligence Business, ways and means,the way people really get things done.So on this basis i was and do feel sorry for most of the Central Intelligence Agency and other agencies who pointed out in detail, as did MI6 that the claims the politicians could not be substantiated....and it was very dangerous ground to be making claims about WMD's, the capability that a threat of 45 minutes for delivery of these into Western Europe.

This as any analyst or General who is honest will tell you isn't possible....but i will explain this, as the politician didn't, and i'll tell you why as well.

Iraq was in possession of the means to deliver artillery rounds/mortars with a very local range, with a chemical capability....and it was this that was capable to be done within 45 minutes.

Through the lack of information, and inferring another capability the public, and i dare say politicians assumed that they had long range missile capability which they didn't, and this is standard fodder for a career minded politician, who will weasle word their written responses on the basis of avoiding actually using facts so they cannot at a later date put them in fear of their position.

In other words they will try their absolute best to avoid using facts so they cant be called a liar at a later point and be forced to resign.

Now the Intelligence Business wasn't to blame, they told and briefed everyone.Colin Powell must have known, he had to as a military man that what he was saying was just not true, he would have been warned and briefed in great detail by possibly George Tennant (in person) that they could not, as an intelligence agency state that at best the information was "unreliable".

If someone tells you an intelligence report is unreliable and sporadic, what it really means is there is no evidence whatsoever, thats what it really says, but the person writing the report now, in the current climate will reference claims, so his position is not called into doubt at a later point.

In short, you just cant trust the people that started the Iraq war on the basis that they are liars, and should not be trusted to even run a cookie stall without supervision at a local fete, never mind the "Peace Process".

You watch how fast the politicians will gang up on the Israeli's to behave and military aid is frozen with immediate effect.

If people wont behave of their own accord, they have to be coerced into it.

Russia could also do the same with gas supply, and i suppose then all parties would then be forced to the negotiation table.

Remember what the oil embargo cutting oil supply to Japan did?

They then had to turn to military action to secure resources.....with the loss of life that followed.
