Aaagh! I made an observation and asked for opinions as to why this thread hijacking doesn´t happen to the same degree, not a full scale comparison or criticism.

I´m sure you could say the same thing about the Irish forum.

I wander over to IF when the EU forum is sleepy, I wotk late and as ibiza said, the time difference means that there is always something going on here. However, that has nothing to do with why Turkish started the thread. It´s about the hijacking of threads by cliques and friends. My observation was simply to underline the fact that it doesn´t happen to the same degree.

But there are many more people on the International
forum,

of course there is going to be more interaction,

so what the point you are making ?

seriously , a better class of people on the EU forum,

You´ve made me laugh since you started on CS... (in a good way), you have a wonderful direct quality about you that I really enjoy and when you don´t get where someone is coming from you´re not afraid to ask questions which really helps a conversation.

Thanks I appreciate that I am like that in person too I believe that people are the most important thing in life and to try to understand someone putting their innards out there is very important but so is laughing and not taking ourselves seriously. When I get a bit feisty on a thread or too full of my own opinion someone comes along and makes a joke and helps me get it into perspective again. Turkish is good at that and if you pay attention some of our essence comes out in these threads the things that are basic too us that transcend our mode of communication. Being goofy and silly keeps us young. There is enough pain in this life that we all have or shall pass through dammit. Now put er up woman no more missus nice guy on this thread.

I wondered about that too, and other things like....do women compete and become more aggressive when more men are in threads, to try to subconciously impress them or something?

Might it be some primal way of trying to prove levels of intelligence to impress men, for the purpose of procreation, (done subconciously of course).???

Also wondered if differing age groups of people (of both genders) make a difference to whether threads are peaceful or not???

I love a bloody good conversation when the juices get going and the bounces around yet still able to stay on topic

I enjoy reading threads like CS Lounge and some posters opinions on current events. I don't feel like getting into the middle of a religious or political p*ssing contest... but let the fanatics argue; I'll laugh at absurdity, occasionally clean tea off the monitor and keyboard. However then must get back to what I'd rather be doing to manage my insanity ;-)

Also agree that many threads degrade to inane drivel; some start with drivel and go for pages. I get bored with it and taking long breaks between short periods of involvement in here would be more my style. I don't have the time or energy to spend in here everyday... truck has been in the shop over the holidays and it's been too blasted cold to be outside or I wouldn't be here today.

Beyond that, it just takes so much time to write and be clear anymore. Then to see someone distort or worse just p*ss all over... what's the use :-( I can't keep up with that... would rather be a lurker and avoid the verbal assaults.

I must say, I do enjoy seeing trolls nailed to the walls, though some must enjoy feeding trolls, I wish it didn't take so many pages like a recent thread started by 'bird brain' er... 'traveling bird' no wait let me think for a second... 'migrating bird'... that's it! I didn't even take the time to read the whole thread, but did notice right off that his main photo for awhile was of Micheal Phelps. I think one poster had it right... probably a smart a** kid.

I don't want to spend the time to follow a stupid thread; however I'd think it would be much more fun for troll hunters to kill a thread quickly and remove posers.

Good thread Turk gained three pages while I wrote this. Maybe I'll come back and read more later ;-)
