I think some move to quickly, and often make a mistake, when they do realize you are a great catch and come back for you...just maybe you are not available.....still dont get the retreat thing...I dont think they like conftrontation....

In all honesty, I hate the chase and I think most men hate it as well but that's just my opinion.

I don't do the whole chase thing, I don't want someone to play hard to get, I want them to be a decent genuine woman "that is hard to get" (in the sack) that waits until she knows there is something special about the person she is dating....JMO

IMO people use the word love as tool much like a crowbar to pry open a womans legs. Women use it as a bear trap to attempt to keep a man. Not in all cases but the word itself seems to have lost a lot of its true meaning and luster. When it is real on both parts, I think that it is one of the most beautiful things to be expressed verbally. I enjoy the chase in both Directions (no not that way for you perverts)and dont back off after the catch. A lot of times the wooing, flowers, and attention slow down because there is no need to stand out from the crowd any longer once caught.

Sometimes men will get together and count how many marks they have, and the guy with the most gets to brag and all the rest agree that he is more of a man. Other times there will be questions and the winner will have to recite details of his conquests.

OK I'm being facetious. I don't think men consciously do this. My guess is that during the chase they fantasize how great this women is and the more they chase the more they build her up. Then reality sets in - that shes just a regular girl, however out of the corner of their eyes he says a real hottie - gee "she must be fun" and a new chase is on.

I figure if you're going to play chase.. just get a dog!
