Actually, I know a couple in this situation. They were engaged to be married and bought a house together. She moved here from NYC to be with him. Then he discovered he doesn't want to get married and start a family. So, they're still living together until they get the house sold, just one year after buying it, and agreed to date others in the meantime since they've taken their relationship down to friendship. She's deciding whether to stay here or move back to her family in NYC.

So...would I personally date someone in a situation like this? No way. Do I understand that people do get into these situations? Yes.

I work with women and have on occasion had coffee and have had drinks after work. Both as a group and have done so on a one on one basis, but, i did not classify those as "dates".

We are co-workers or neighbors, and yes some where in a less than desirable relationship. I did not consider these as "dates". I will not say that I have not at times had thoughts about a few a these ladies in a less than just co-worker or in neighborly way, Christ, I'm a man so not apologizing for my stray thoughts that occur.

To the best of my knowledge, they all except one say their husbands or boyfriends know what they are doing, and the one that claims she does not tell her husband her every move, says "We've been married 12 years,If he can't trust me, the hell with him!".

I still hold to the belief these occasions were not dates. another reason they were not dates... I was not the only one buying the drinks or coffee, we all arrive separately and leave the same way.

I so enjoy posting a response before reading others post.

Have you ever watched the show "Cheaters"? There is alot of pain and suffering when people cheat. Breaking off your current relationship before you take up with someone else, is far less painful to the innocent mate. Finding out your loved one is cheating on you hurts very deep.

Seems like, through my experience, if a guy says - he's in a relationship, living with someone, getting a divorce, sleeping in separate beds, etc., etc., etc... You get the picture!..
That is just an excuse to get laid!.. They're lying about their situation and saying to you, what he (or she) thinks you wanna hear..

I really dont understand how anyone can date even if that person is separated..

I would not i would wait until that person was at least divorce
