Obama, President elect of the United States, has already proposed $500.00 stipends to every tax paying citizen in 2010. Bush's "gift" did NOT stimulate our economy, so how is this going to?
When will this national, and world, economic crisis end? When the US goes bankrupt???
"We" can't keep bailing sinking ships..........

If the Egyptian, the Greek, and the Roman Empires ended, why not Pax Americana too??...

Actually, it is more like pandering to the masses. Throw the ignorant public a bone so when we as politicians do something really stupid, the public will hopefully not bite the hand that "feeds" them.

There's rumor afoot that Obama and the mattel toy company were attempting to develop something called the welfare doll. The idea being that one could wind it up and it wouldn't work.

Some of the stimulus ideas seem to equate to the same thing. We are screwing future generations with the debt we are creating and have been creating in the past. Social welfare on this scale will lead to our banruptcy.

If the US drops it's wars, dismantles most of the CIA and starts spending the money on it's own people instead may be a solution......

You said it most colorfully and funniest, but I agree with Dru. I am not Nostradamus, but it seems that our economic future is pretty clear. The stimulous package is like giving someone who is starving a cracker and telling them to save it for tomorrows dinner. It dont work that way. It wont stimulate spending, but it may help someone in ways that we cant conceive. It is a shame but it all leads back to greed. peace

....as one officer of the court to another....do you (or anyone else for that matter) remotely remember learning about the "Office of the President Elect" in Art. II of the Constitution? Just curious.....I guess I missed that Con Law class....
