Tater: I'm poor but I totally agree, don't get any free stuff though, I tried to get help for my dad here, after he had brain surgery and the black lady I spoke with said they don't have the funding to help everyone, she said that the only people she beleived they were helping at the time was minorities and single mothers....
Not all poor people don't work, you have to figure unless you work for yourself, or the city, state, or feds... and some sales people.. then the people make less then 12.00 hr here anyways.. I'm a certified welder, the best paying jobs within 30miles only pays between 8-12hr..... This town is all about who you know, not what you know....I have a 137 IQ. the last time I went putting in apps.which was about 2yrs. ago, I put in 67 apps. accompanied with resumes over a 4 month period of time, I was never even called for on interveiw..Every job I applied for was hiring when I appied...
but back at the ranch... I agree with ya...
The sad part is, since I retired my income has dropped significantly and I now qualify for some of these incentives. I don't need it at all nor do I want it. My retirement check covers everything I need. Besides, I just secured a second career job and I saved a lot of money over the past 28 years.
There just seems to be too much giving and to the wrong people. There really are people who need a help up, assistance with medical issues and others. What drives me nuts is the continued pouring out of money to those too lazy to get off their asses and try to earn their own way.
Anyway, I think you and I see this pretty much the same way.
