I was with an American gentleman for many years, he had a wonderful accent, no drawling, I cannot bear drawling.

nooo...what i meant was....if i spoke with a heavey dallas drawl, when i was a kid, she would correct me....she told me not to speak like that...''it sounds like a dumb hick''.... laugh

All I know is that when I talk to my friends both in Ireland and England, one of the first things they told me was that they liked my american accent. Now to me, I have no accent. I'm not from the south or NY or ME or any other place that has an accent in the USa. lol Washington state has no accent I say to others but my friends just laugh at me anyway. Oh well.

I dont know how the women are regarding american accents, all I know is that men sure seem to love it! grin

I don't know how foreign you mean but I live in Canada and I LOVE the Southern accent. I spoke to Kissmedeeply's husband "Eric" and Wow I loved it. I could listen to the southern accent all day. I also LOVE the Enlish accent.thumbs up handshake

that is crazy....Their is nothing wrong with a drawl...My daughter in law from New Jersey thought we sounded like hicks in Mo...what ever.....

I had all of my regional knocked out of me, when I went to school in a foreign country...

I didn't pick that up ' much'. It was too short a conversation I think. I didn't pick it up from Ambrose either. (When Ambrose dropped his friend off at the airport and went and vistd Dana by the way).wave
