Has it ever happened to you? You meet somebody in a forum or chatroom, you seem to hit it off, start an email relationship which maybe turns into IMing and WHAM he/she falls off the face of the earth. Leaves you to wonder was it something I said? Was she married and got caught? Did she meet someone else? Will I hear from her ever again?
This has happened to me so many times I'm starting to wonder if there's something wrong with me. Or maybe there's something wrong with the opposite sex. Can't people have the decency to at least own up to the fact they don't wish to be involved with you for whatever reason instead of just leaving you scratching your head? I mean, come on, have some balls and spit it out. Why keep the person dangling on some non existent hope that one day you'll show up with an excuse or an apology or at least a reason for just slamming the door on a budding relationship or friendship. Are people THAT self centered that it's too much of an inconvience to take a few minutes to at least drop the person a line saying you're really not interested or someone else is rocking your world?mumbling

Yes more often than not. I just think that they do it because they think they found somebody better than you. Because.... and yes I am guilty, but not recently. I used to do it. You look to deal up. It is such bad manners, and I got told off by a guy that really liked me. And that was when I stopped.

Happened once a long time ago. Seemed like a nice enough gal but one day she just vanished. Hope she's OK and nothing bad happened to her.

Now the only people that disappear are the girls that write to me professing love and bearing e-mail addresses. They always seem to disappear shortly after I refer their names to the Mods. laugh

In any case, if there's an ability, it would be better to send a final e-mail instead of disappearing.

I think some people on forums dont see forum relationships as real so they do things they would never do in real life.

Had this happen to me, Ooby, very recently. He has shown up with a reasonable explanation, though, and so I'm waiting through this time to see if we can continue or not. He's worth it at this point, and I have no reason not to believe him. I still trust and love the man I was getting to know and love so well.

Actually I never go on the forums on any website except this one. I have to say I have learned a lot. I got friends here that I would never just vanish on. Now that I have gotten to know them.

Yes it has more times than I can remember now. I don't know their reasons for doing that and I don't care. That shows me I only missed out on someone very shallow, rude and uncaring. So it's a good thing, and they saved me the trouble of dumping them wink laugh

Amber in the short time you have been here, which is today, you have brought so much freshness to this place, it is wonderful.

Ooooby

I agree with you and I had it happen to me once, when I first came here, a man disappeared, just never contacted me, again and I did quite like him, I know he is a member and I did see him on my who's viewed me, and I think well, you are still around. Maybe I upset hi or something, but even if a person takes offence and runs away, it does not bode well for any relationship does it, if you cannot be given the chance to repair the situation.

But I agree, with your frustration and thoughts. It must be disheartening for people when this happens.

Oh you have, very much so, you have made me smile and many others too.

Never go in the chat rooms, so I could not tell you about there.

But I think you are a little jewel.

This happened to me recently with a man that I was hoping
we could develop more than friendship. He disappeared, have
no idea why.
