Pretzelman wants us to do more interesting threads so here goes. Who discovered America? Not Christopher Columbus!! Nor the Italian explorer Amerigo Cespucci after whom the continent was named nor in fact Chinese Admiral Cheng in 1492 as now some are now saying saying.

The Turkey is a bird that is indiginous to the USA and found no where else in the wild. On The Bayeux Tapestry (a French very large embroidery depicting the Battle of Hastings in 1066 and first mentioned in 1476 and considered to be much older), there is an embroided turkey!. Proof that the American continent was dealing and trading with Europe long before any of the above mentioned "discovered" it.

What other bits of silly and/or unknown useless information is out there?? Please tell us.

If the government has no knowledge of aliens, then why does Title 14, Section 1211 of the Code of Federal regulations, implemented on July 16, 1969, make it illegal for U.S. citizens to have any contact with extraterrestrials or their vehicles?

dunno eh?

What you have cited above is far from being 'silly and useless' information; they are enigmas which change and alter drastically our perceptions of the past...our history. You mention the Chinese Admiral Cheng, yet only within the last 2 years evidence along with the ruins of a Chinese settlement and out post has been discovered on Cape Breton Island of the East coast of Canada that dates back to at least the 13th century...see the book "The Island of Seven Cities" by Paul Chiasson, 2006...for one
Why are Celtic boundary markers turning up as far as the West coast of Canada...why are there neolithic stone temple ruins all over the Eastern seaboard of North America? What were Arabic settlers doing living among the Pima and Zuni tribes in the US southwest? For a virtual catalog of enigmatic discoveries, see the book "America, BC--Ancient Settlers in the New World" by Prof. Barry Fell...if artifacts and information drastically change our perceptions of what the 'reality' of Reality is, it can't be useless much less 'silly' except perhaps to 'Joe Sixpack' guzzling away in his trailer down in Gumball, Arkansas who just seeks to obliterate his 'reality'...and no wonder!laugh

Interesting and useless information was only the title of the thread. I did not mean it to refer specifically to my statement which I thought interesting. The thread title means that useless information was welcome too.

Another one is why are sheriffs called sheriffs? Back in the days before law enforcement had any kind of hold. Dukes ruled the Shires of England such as Wiltshire, Oxfordshire etc. For every 200 population or so there was appointed a REEVE who would report to the Duke on the goings on and trouble of their villages. They would hold meetings and discuss the punishment, outcome etc. They were known and the Shire's Reeves. Hence a slow bastardisation of the words Shires Reeve to Sheriff.

And hence, now we know why so many people hate sheriffs; they're all bastards! Sorry, just couldn't pass that one up...laugh

Actually, Title 14 regulates the quarantine of anyone coming in contact with a celestial body or foreign atmosphere, not aliens...

1211.100 Title 14 - Aeronautics and Space
Part 1211 - Extra-terrestrial Exposure

1211.100 - Scope

This part establishes: (a) NASA policy, responsibility and authority to guard the Earth against any harmful contamination or adverse changes in its environment resulting from personnel, spacecraft and other property returning to the Earth after landing on or coming within the atmospheric envelope of a celestial body; and (b) security requirements, restrictions and safeguards that are necessary in the interest of national security.

And who engineered the underground tunnels known to be strewn throughout Oak Island Nova Scotia? Evidence of the Knights Templars visiting Nova Scotia in the 11th century was discovered and well documented. A discreet reference to it was recorded at the end of the book "The Divinci Code", by Dan Brown.

Don't worry.

That law is unconstitutional and violates the rights to free speech and assembly of both the US citizens and the extraterrestrials involved.

It'll never stand up under appeal.
