There were a few,,but a boat ride along the shores of lake michigan with a comfortable date,,mooring up to the lake front museums and visiting,,,following the shores further to the water side restaurants,,and watching my date scale a fence because I moored up to the wrong pier,,,( I did lend a chuckling hand )

I've noticed below your pic that it says you're from Michigan. I'm a Michigander myself.I have realtives who reside in Charlevoix,St. Ignace,Mackinac Island and on Beaver Island.

I was born and raised in Lansing,Mi where I grew up and met and married my late husband and had two wonderful sons.I've only lived here in Ohio for about 3 yrs this coming Sept.

Well anyhow I went to Lansing Community college and took classes in accounting.Since residing in Ohio I have my own homebased Accounting business.

probably at the parks in my area.Hiking,taking photos,picnics,playing fribee,meeting other people.Seems those were always good days,lots of laughing and good memories.

My ex-boyfriend had a place on one of the islands at the river near here. We would go there every weekend with his boat. We had friends down there. It would be such a fun time! We'd all get together & have dinner & then sit around a fire & just have a great time! The one guy, "Bim", we always called him, would bring his guitar along. He'd play & I'd sing.

In the morning, I'd get a cup of coffee & walk down to the dock & just look out over the water. It was so calm & peaceful. Then, we'd take a boat ride, just to relax & look around. Later, we'd take rides on the jet skis.

An episode was shot from the island just across from our island for a show on MTV once. I couldn't believe it when I saw it!!

I miss those times! But a lot of those people have sold their places & it's not the same now. Times change... so do people.

I used to drive through Charlevoix on my way sometimes to get to the Mackinac Bridge which ofd course was the long way but I loved the scenery.I've visited the County courthouse there in Charloix several times to look up info because I was tracing my ancestry.I've always wanted to take the fairy across to Beaver Island &ames but could never afford the rates. All I can do for now is view Beaver Island by webcam from their webpage.

The most wel-known surname in Charlevoix was Leblanc which means White in French.Not that long ago I was able to find a relative and talk to them on the phone who lived within the Charlevoix area who was related to the LeBlanc's who lived there.
