I too believe shyness is involved. My first go round here, that was me. Scared I'd be told to buzz off or ignored. Now, I don't sweat it. If I read something I like, and that person touches me in some way, I'll pop em a note. Just being friendly.

To all who are hesitating to give a "Hey" to someone, Go for it! I've met some great people here because they extended their friendship in a flower or e-mail. Now I do the same and enjoy it. Send a smile, it's understood in any language. If they don't answer, you're no worse off than you were. And jump in the forums. It's a Hoot!

Probably the best and most civil approach; ignore the insistent types those not at all interesting(I've got a few, ech!)
Some males may be repressed voyeur types ...perhaps hoping to catch a picture of you 'nekked'; never can tell...

I view profiles, both men and women, but doesn't mean I am interested in that person. I view them to see what they are all about after they have made a commment, good or bad, in the forums.

I do the same thing. Or if I can't see a pic clearly & I want to get a closer look... not necessarily because I want to "check them out". It may be a pic of a nature scene or something.

I have been on this site for 6 months. Off and on, never introduced myself.
I have posted a few times. This site has so many things to offer. It takes time,
and can be overwhelming. I am still finding new things it has to offer.

longing and rejection. I could look at a wonderful lady's profile and even if she met ALL criteria, I wouldn't contact her. I don't do well with rejection. The best way to avoid rejection is to not put yourself in a position to be rejected. As I have said in the past, I would NEVER make the first move. But I may return and look at her picture several times!!

I do this too. Sometimes my curiousity gets the best of me.
And then, I have some pretty strange pictures of myself up at times, as well, so I do understand.

I also look sometimes at profiles, just to see what they say which might inspire me to change something in my profile.

But I am also not very quick with contacting, especially since I had a lady who viewed me several times and even voted my picture with ten. So I thought maybe she might be interested but a bit shy. So I wrote her a little msg and she replied by swearing at me, calling me names and said she was only looking here at pictures and voting them. Probably a new hobby she discovered?
