trish123: You know Mike, 68 pregnant women have presented themselves at the baricades of Gaza over the last couple of years or so - women needing medical aid to birth their children - 34 of those children were birthed dead and a good few of the mothers died too - the hospitals have no supplies but if any person is granted leave, it is pretty unlikely they will ever get back to their families........

A bit off topic, but I do a lot of research and use internet most of the day (and night, sorry darling) and all things that is politically loaded gets tampered with by different "powers".

Lately I have been heavily involved in things in regards to Ghana and the result of the elections there. To actually find real information worth reading, I have had to find links in discussion groups and similar and go from there to slowly work my way back to the source.

I have found that the news in India is pretty naked in regards to what happens over here and in Africa, while local issues in India is best read through foreign and non-British media.

It has much to do with readers and ads, of course, positive local political news, crime and celebrities will for always be more interesting to people, naturally. A far away conflict or development where your country is not on the positive side does not sell high numbers.

India on the other hand is slowly starting to realise its important position in the world, and knows where "we" in the west have a blind spot. They do well there and I am happy to have the papers at hand.

Regarding Ghana... they had a successful democratic election, the failing party congratulated the winners and went to work next day as should be.

I bow for them and the great manners they have shown, in an area where guns most often have been the voice of power.

Sad thing is that what Israel is doing now can be very much likened to what US did to Afghanistan after 9/11. Really.

.

gracias por tu respuesta , y le digo lo seguiente .

primero :

is it really sad ? if you were living under the continous raids every day and night, you wouldnt say its only sad , trust me Sir . if you saw your own kids killed in front of your eyes , if you saw your old father or mather getting old and needing some medical help and you simply cant make it due to the closed borders , and if you cant see your wife giving birth in the hospital safe and secure , that would be sad only Sir .

mike69spain:

Then, what does Israel hope to gain by doing this? Erase Hamas? They would not dare to engage in this warfare if it was not safe, and safe it would not be if Hamas had strong support from the countries in the region.

.

segundo :

Isreal is planning to kill more and more Palestinians in this war , claiming that they are trying to erase terrorism ! is this the way we fight terrorism ? well , we ( as intellectual Palestinians ) were always tought that it should be through some civilized negociations , both parts should be brought to the table of negociations , weapons will not do anything but increasing the hard feelings in both parts , specially Palestinians , because no one will forget the sight of his kids being killed in front of him , no one will forget the sight of his wife's body how she was burried alive , and each one of them will keep on dreaming of revenge .. if you read more in pcycology you will get to reach these fact , that people with hard feeling ( due to some bad treatment ) will always think if getting revenge . so i dont think that killing civilians is the solution to " fight terrorism " .

plus ; if Isreal really wanted to fight Hamas alone , they could have assasinated their members individually , and Israel did so before , when they assisinated Sheikh Ahmad Yasein , but trust me , its not a matter of Hamas , they have some issues with Palestinians, and arabs in general , because Hamas is not ruling since ages ,but still we have been facing the problems with them since over 60 years , Hamas was not ruling that times ;) plus , when they committed the several massacres in Lebanon aganist Palestinians ( Sabra and Shateila Massacres ) Hamas wasnt ruling that time !! when they committed the massacre of Aqsa Shareef , when they shoot huge number of men and women praying peacefully in the Aqsa Mosque , Hamas wasnt ruling,

so please stop justifiying whats israel isng being doing lately against Palestinians , and say that they are fighting Hamas and not civilians, becuase theyh ave been doing this since the day they came to Palestine . but every day , they have a new fake statement . the whole world is watching now , everything is shown on TV , the whole world is getting to know more and more how peacefull Israel is , and how moral tis army is . all getting known .

Probably not, I would be out there trying to fight it back. Why I call it sad, is simply because it pulls the leg from any real protest from US.

Now I am not there, and I am not choosing sides either, I am trying to keep a low tuned style in this, as there are many voices to the subject, and with that many angles.

And by thinking that we are not foremost people you put yourself in an interesting light, don't you think.

I was not posting this to support your cause or anyone else, I post what I think, and that was it. If you want to use it on the barricades, go ahead, but I do have a thing or two to say about Hamas political agenda too, and you would probably hate me as a result of it.

So, I am out of this thread, not interesting in starting one more cyber war, there are a few already.

As far as my knowledge is cncern,Muhammad has never said like this.Infact islam was more involved towards idiolatly in Arabic not the judaism.
The Holy book of Islam in his 28 chapters out of 30,praises Moses and his true followers.Islam has inherited many features from true judaism.
Judaism has its historical relationship with Islam since centries. They were first allowed by Muslim to come and live in Juruslim and then in Spain.
I donot know how u relate these words with Muhammad Where he used the Word People of book(torah) for Jews.
Please reconsider ur source of information. Muhammad was not born in Ierland........
thanks

Perhaps there are some of you who really care to go deep into the Zionist mentality and history without your rose tinted glasses for either your own personal understanding or perhaps for the truth if nothing else. I have 2 books that are by far the best yet, ever written on the subject, one by the British author G.K. Chesterton , entitled The New Jerusalem, 1929. The most pertenant being chapter 13: The Problem Of Zionism, Look up just who G.K. Chesterton was and perhaps you may then begin to understand how this is vital to comprehending the why's and what's that he writes of. Nothing has changed in the nature of Zionism since it was written, but it may still astound some of you.
The second book is THE anti Zionist monument written in 1978 by the famous Jewish author Alfred M. Lilienthal entitled "THE ZIONIST CONNECTION, Dodd, Mead & Compan, New York with Bibliographical references and index; 872 pages....much to large for most of you, I'm sure but save for a very few who are very serious in knowing just what is really going on with and between the US and it's total commitment to the Israeli programs of Arab conquest and sanctioned genocide. Here it is, all laid out and laid bare. It is very heavy reading but not for those who will fight and argue to remain in total denial as to the dangers to the world posed by the Zionist ideals, and programs, It is one of the greatest scholarly challenges that any book can offer; it the ultimate "I dare you to read this" type of book, all totally and fully documented.
Speaking with a moral authority few Christians can command, author-historian Alfred Lilienthal gives the background of the forces that have already fought four and are now in another 5th was since the creation of the state of Israel in the very heart of the Arab world and the forced displacement of millions.
He points out how the politicization of the Jewish people, totally confusing 'home' with 'state' and 'religion' with 'nationalism' underlies the Arab- Israeli conflicts.
There simply is no valid reason not to read this book, if you have opinions on anything concerning these topics. No excuse whatsoever, if you care enough to voice an opinion...find a copy, even from a library...

part 2 The Zionist Connection

Behind the increasing involvement of the US he finds the meticulous organization of Zionism reaching into the White House, mobilizing public opinion, exercising virtual total control over the US Congress, totally repressing all opposition through anti-Semitic labeling, and exerting inordinate influences over all media of information, This has resulted in the subordination of foreign policy to the domestic quests for votes, endangering US national interests and world peace. Dr. Lilienthal is a forceful advocate of the proposition that Israeli nationalism can find a 'modus vivendi' with the Palestinians through the de-Zionism of Israel and the establishment of a secular, bi national Palestinian State. This book presents arguments that cannot and should not be ignored by anyone concerned with human rights, the increased US dependency on Arab oil and the dangers of all out nuclear confrontation, All lives enter this conflict.

LONDON - January - 1150 words
Jewish editor sacked for publishing article This article was sent to Debbie Ducro, a Jewish-American journalist with the Kansas City Jewish Chronicle. She published it, and was fired the next day. Quest for justice By Judith Stone I am a Jew. I was a participant in the Rally for the Right of Return to Palestine. It was the right thing to do. I've heard about the European holocaust against the Jews since I was a small child. I've visited the memorials in Washington, DC and Jerusalem dedicated to Jewish lives lost and I've cried at the recognition to what level of atrocity mankind is capable of sinking. Where are the Jews of conscience? No righteous malice can be held against the survivors of Hitler's holocaust. These fragments of humanity were in no position to make choices beyond that of personal survival. We must not forget that being a survivor or a co-religionist of the victims of the European Holocaust does not grant dispensation from abiding by the rules of humanity. "Never again" as a motto, rings hollow when it means "never again to us alone." My generation was raised being led to believe that the biblical land was a vast desert inhabited by a handful of impoverished Palestinians living with their camels and eking out a living in the sand. The arrival of the Jews was touted as a tremendous benefit to these desert dwellers. Golda Meir even assured us that there "is no Palestinian problem".We know now this picture wasn't as it was painted. Palestine was a land filled with people who called it home. There were thriving towns and villages, schools and hospitals. There were Jews, Christians and Muslims. In

whitechicken dartmouth, Massachusetts USA
In fact, prior to the occupation, Jews represented a mere seven per cent of the population and owned three per cent of the land. Taking the blinders off for a moment, I see a second atrocity perpetuated by the very people who should be exquisitely sensitive to the suffering of others. These people knew what it felt like to be ordered out of your home at gun point and forced to march into the night to unknown destinations or face execution on the spot. The people who displaced the Palestinians knew first hand what it means to watch your home in flames, to surrender everything dear to your heart at a moment's notice. Bulldozers levelled hundreds of villages, along with the remains of the village inhabitants, the old and the young. This was nothing new to the world. Poland is a vast graveyard of the Jews of Europe. Israel is the final resting place of the massacred Palestinian people. A short distance from the memorial to the Jewish children lost to the holocaust in Europe there is a levelled parking lot. Under this parking lot is what's left of a once flourishing village and the bodies of men, women and children whose only crime was taking up needed space and not leaving graciously. This particular burial marker reads: "Public Parking". I've talked with Palestinians. I have yet to meet a Palestinian who hasn't lost a member of their family to the Israeli Shoah, nor a Palestinian who cannot name a relative or friend languishing under inhumane conditions in an Israeli prison. Time and time again, Israel is cited for human rights violations to no avail. On a recent trip to Israel, I visited the refugee camps inhabited by a people who have waited 52 years in these 'temporary' camps to go home. Every Palestinian grandparent can tell you the name of their village, their street, and where the olive trees were planted. Their grandchildren may never have been home, but they can tell you where their great-grandfather lies buried and where the village well stood. The press has fostered the portrait of the Palestinian terrorist. But the victims who rose up against human indignity in the Warsaw Ghetto are called heroes. Those who lost their lives are called martyrs. The Palestinian who tosses a rock in desperation is a terrorist. Two years ago I drove through Palestine and watched intricate sprinkler systems watering lush green lawns of Zionist settlers in their new condominium complexes, surrounded by armed guards and barbed wire in the midst of a Palestinian community where there was not adequate water to drink and the surrounding fields were sandy and dry. University professor Moshe Zimmerman reported in the Jerusalem Post (30 April, 1995), "The children of Hebron are just like Hitler's youth." We Jews are suing for restitution, lost wages, compensation for homes, land, slave labour and back wages in Europe. Am I a traitor of a Jew for supporting the right of return of the Palestinian refugees to their birthplace and compensation for what was taken that cannot be returned? The Jewish dead cannot be brought back to life and neither can the Palestinian massacred be resurrected. David Ben Gurion said, "Let us not ignore the truth among ourselves... politically, we are the aggressors and they defend themselves.. .The country is theirs, because they inhabit it, whereas we want to come here and settle down, and in their view we want to take away from them their country...".
