Dawn7z: All of the above but what I have learned about romance at least for me is that if it's over the top I don't tend to believe it. Subtle is best. Of course it depends on your date? If she is serious might not be a great thing to joke too much. Also I have always found that I hit it off with someone better on a date if we were doing an activity. Just a thought.
Definately Humour. Romance on a first date would scare most women off, especially if they didn't know you very well. They would be worried that you were only after one thing.
