Actually, Paws, if you think about it, it could be very hard for these young people to find someone to meet. They've grown up on computers instead of things like roller skating. And for them, the virtual world is just part of their lives, unlike us who came to it later because it wasn't there when we were younger. So for many of us it's strange territory to live a "virtual life" and meet others online. To top it off, some of them are too young for the bar scene, or just not into it, so like many of us there just aren't a lot of options for them, either. Just my thoughts on the matter.

Some of us "Old Farts" (at that age) had race cars and were winning races. Could not beat the chicks off with a club..

absolutely right. We had to be out and about, there was no way we were going to sit in the house all the time. Hanging out with cousins until it was time for me to catch that plane to basic training is how I met my first husband.

But it's usually easy to find someone to "bam." It's the love-connection that's difficult.

buzzy: 18 to 25 year olds on date sites. When I was that age I couldn't keep the women away. I could have had a different woman every night. All I had to do was talk to them, and bam it was on. Now I'm not trying to show off or rub it in someone's face, I just don't understand why it is so hard for our young friends to find the one. When it was so easy when I was that age. It can't be for a lack of people to meet. So what is it? Let's figure it out so we can get these young people on the right track.

For me it's about finding someone with similar interests. I live in a small town with tons of peers, but the problem is in such a small town with little to do all they seem to care about is drugs, alcohol, and sex. I like my relationships - dating or friends - to have much more substance than that. Hence why I came here. I've met a few friends and the woman I'm dating here and I'm enjoying being able to talk about things other than how Johnny got wasted and pissed his pants after falling asleep on top of Hannah.

Yes I am able to meet women, and back in Vegas I had to say "no" more often than I'd like and never had to rely on sites, but now I'm glad I had to find other ways to meet people and am glad I found this site.

Neither can they, but now they have yet another scene to play on, one you did not have.

That is my simple theory

I am not sure there was such a thing as dating sites when I was 18. We had more cash to play with... new outfit bought to go out clubbing each Friday and Saturday night and then Sunday to recover before back to school/college/work.... changed days!

When I was 18-25, I was in college.

Guys everywhere and parties at least four night a weeks.

It was the age of Free Love, AIDS was not known yet and "the pill" was new to the market.

If you couldn't be with the one you loved, you loved the one you were with.

Guess it's a different world now
