How far Would You be Willing To Go To Defend Your Woman From Attack ?

Diamond

In civilian life I've had a .357 Mag. pulled on me and in another instance, a 12 gauge Shotgun.I'm still here.'Nuff said about those deals.grin

One late night in Houston Texas my date had to go to the bathroom so we stopped at a gas station that had a Ladies Room on the side of the building.

I had barely noticed an old car stopped in the dark behind the station.
When my date went into the room, three guys stepped out of the old car and headed towards her as she entered the bldg.
I stepped from the car with a large baseball bat and the guys did an abrupt complete about face, climbed back into their car and left.
I gotta big,,,,reward,,,,,from that woman.

If for example, you and your date were out together and somebody or more than one person tried to force themselve's on you and her, would you run screaming like a pussy into the night leaving your date to their fate alone, or try your best to defend her?

Have you defended a date before?

How far would you be willing to go to protect your date?

Do you go armed and ready just in case self-defense is needed ?

If a man or woman jumped out from a dark alleyway with a knife or other weapon and threatened harm to you for your wallet, purse,or her body, what would you do ?

If you were walking on a sidewalk alone or with a date and a rough looking crowd was coming from the other way on the same sidewalk, would you cross to the other side of the street to place yourself between the crowd and your date or risk walking into a possible confrontation of perhaps 5 to 1 odds ?
Remember, running to the opposite side of the street could begin a chase where you could both loose.

If you were enjoying the evening together and an unruly scumwad kept trying to steal your date away, what would you do ?

Any personal experiences in defense or planned defense of a date welcomed here.

For example;
On a late night date a couple of months ago, as my date(woman) and I were walking towards my Jeep, an unruly group of 4 drunken men were jostling each other from the opposite direction while walking towards us..
I placed her behind my left arm and opened my long blade then slid it into the right backpocket of my jeans with the hilt sticking up and out in case I needed to protect us.
I then asked her to angle towards the left with me to place us on the outskirts of the men rather than walk into their center.
She complied and so we skirted the group, she on my left, my righthand and arm close to my knife protecting our right.
The rowdy men started to part so we'd have to pass between them, however we maintained our approach to the left and passed around .
Has the above similar situation ever forced itself on you ?
Remember, regardless of what others might have to say,"your date is your responsibility".
Protect your date and yourself first, then worry about the results later.
Thank you
Truthful advice and experience input needed here.

Good post Diamond!

Four years ago I was almost raped at a Wal-Mart supercenter parking lot. It was late at night, but I wasn't alone. The rest of my family was inside still shopping. I started feeling sick so I went out to the van to wait on them. There was a security guard sitting on the bench in front of the store, flirting. He had told police he "thought" he heard a lady scream for help. But he never got off his butt!very mad very mad (Well, until the police came.) Anyway, for a year after that I carried pepper spray and a whistle everywhere I went. I don't anymore. But over the past 6 months I've seriously thought about carrying a handgun with a permit.........

I did 2 weeks in jail for my actions of intervening on a woman who was being beaten in a parking lot.

The man responsible was arrested for public drunkenness and I was taken in for a unpaid traffic citation.

I can only imagine I would if my lady was in any such/similar danger I would do whatever is necessary.

Also, not only a date, but a spouse as well. My first husband would always make me go into the house first if we didn't leave any lights on and it was dark. One day, I finally asked him "why" he always made me go in first. His reply, "because if someone's in there, they'll get you instead of me." uh oh uh oh mumbling ......enough said.doh

I do carry a handgun with a permit. Not every day, but when I feel it's prudent. I also have spent years studying martial arts. I recommend finding an instructor who can teach you defense shooting if you do this. They'll give you good tips and help you work on a fast draw. Merky, if you're giving this serious consideration, please email me. I've taught women how to carry concealed and can give you some really great tips and great products to get to make it easier. I've tried them all.

Btw, I can defend myself...but knowing that my date and I would be a team would be great comfort. I at least like knowing he's got my back. laugh

I think you've stumbled on the real reasons in the beginning men did start opening the door and aloowing them to "go in first" began. we just put a spin on it as saying its being polite.rolling on the floor laughing

The most practical thing for the protection of the one with you is looking ahead if possible and turn,go another way. But like so many people on a flooded road they believe they will make it. But it only takes one time to be wrong. Sometimes it can't be avoided....like a good scout....be prepared!

I have a permit to carry grin

One time while in the USCG, the ship I was on pulled into New Orleans for Thanksgiving after playing war games with the Navy in the Gulf.
I went out into the city by myself sightseeing. A guy came up and asked for the time. When I brought my arm up to look at my watch, he grabbed for my watch. When he did that, I grabbed my hunting knife which was hidden under my shirt. He let go and was gone

I use shiners to watch areas I am in. In card play a shiner is a reflective surface to reveal anothers card or card delt. I use shiners to see around corners and objects...car finishes,chrome,windows,water,...you can also double shine by using one shiner to see in another if needed.grin

My mother is a sweet soft spoken Southern lady. One day a man was getting out of line with my father. I was ready to make him quit but my father motion for me to hold. I was there ready. Over to the side my little mother eased up behind him so sweetly. He did not even consider her. My little mother was just standing there with a 16 oz glass Coke bottle to the side out out sight. She was ready to put his lights out too. rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing He would have never seen it coming.

In some places it is not like that. That lady was lucky she had you.
