Is it me or is it that when you email someone asking if they are interested in chatting they just ignore your message? I am not talking about IM, I am talking about emailing. Why is it that people don't respond to your messages? No matter how pleasant and warm you try to be? confused

I do try to respond to everyone, though I fail miserably sometimes. Some members have so many mails and flowers they simply can't get back to everyone.....

Its nice to think that everyone would have the courtesy but I guess not all members feel the necessity. Its just one of those things.

If you feel it rude, bad manners.... would you want to associate with that person anyway?

That is why I would not want to be rich or famous. You are never sure if people like you for you or your money. That is why the lead vocal for the rock group Boston committed suicide. He felt like he had no friends. He felt people only liked him for his fame and money. Very sad.

I can think of one reason. The person does not think you're their match. Regardless, there has to be basic courtesy. It would be nice to be acknowledge. One woman here was honest to shoot me an email saying that we may not be a match and wishes me good luck. Now that's courtesy.

Other than that, just keep trying to make connection and eventually you'll find her.

Sometimes a turned down message results in very weird reactions indeed and I think some have stopped replying in full when they have nothing to say.

Courtesy is suffering as a result of that and we should not take it personally, accept that silence is a no and move on.
