"not Pat..."rolling on the floor laughing

It's hard to tell because she is not accustomed to being in the house (with a cat & 4 dogs!) They can't get to her, but she can hear and smell them for sure and can possibly see them, too. I don't think she has moved since I put her in the crate about an hour ago, so I've no idea whether she's acting normal. As I said, she's a squirrely one!

She was not limping yesterday. As for distressed, I think her picture appears beside the definition in the dictionary! She has always been "high-strung," and right now, she is just sitting quietly in the crate, sodunno

What is an egg? Boneless, aborted chicken. Oops, sorry. Forgot this is a chicken thread.

hmmm....i don't know...it may be nothing more than a strain or somethin'....but, then again....it would'nt hurt to check and see...check out her lower abdomen and see if its normal...if she's egg bound...it'll be rounded and , somewhat distended...when you got her out of the cage, was she on a perch or laying around ?

Jackson: Don & I have four bantam hens and a rooster. One of the Japanese bantams is limping this a.m. She was fine last evening. Anybody have any experience/suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

P.S. We LOVE our chickens, so anyone who suggests the "stew pot" gets it!!

Hi, Jackson!! wave A delight to see you, of course.... yay though we don't get to see you anything like as much as we should, love!!

My folks had chickens in Cyprus, but I don't have any, no. I recently went out with a fella for a while that turned out to be a chicken.... does that count?!

When I caught her, she and the others were all on the floor of their coop. (They don't usually get on the perch except at night.) She is looking around a bit now, which helps my mind-set! She hasn't tried to stand up yet, though, so I don't know her leg/foot is. May have to wait until she does feel more at ease with being indoors and tries to move around some. I'll check her abdomen in the meanwhile.

Thanks again for all your help! cheers

Geez, thanks for the bouquet, sweetie!! Good to see you as well, my friend!

I'm not on CS much lately. Takes a while for an old bird like me to feel comfortable on a site with so many changes! rolling on the floor laughing Of course, when I have a problem, I still rely on my friends here!

Hope your day is wonderful! teddybear

Am assuming the confusion is about Don in the snow? If so, he is a truck driver in the Southeastern US these days, so he's mostly away from home during the week!

Yes, I must stop by here more often to see friends! teddybear
