prairiewoman: 'Type O's need meat, as do type B's and some type AB's.'I am type O blood, but have no intention of eating any more meat than I already do, which is not much. I did do a lot of reading up on vegetarianism and the body's requirements to make sure I was getting what I needed.
My doctor has no concerns with my health.
I don't go by what my doctor says, I go by what my body says. My doctors have managed to misdiagnose me for years, and the more I learn about the medical community, the less faith I have in it. It has its place for diagnostic tests and treatment of severe injuries/conditions that require casts or surgery, but that's it.
The information in that book was tested through the agglutination response to foods of different blood types. If it acts the same way as it does to its opposite blood type, then the food is harmful for you. If it acts in a beneficial way with your blood type, it's beneficial for you. Like for me as a type A, there is no beneficial meat, just neutral and ones to avoid if I want my body to function at optimal health.
Anyway, I'm not trying to make anyone who feels strongly about being a vegetarian give it up, I was just pointing out that it's really not the ideal diet for everyone as has been touted for ages.
