Who's idea?
Not mine not yours.
Who is John Galt,
Nobody knows,
But with his disappearance
Our world whimpers,
And grinds to a halt,
Who the Hell is John Galt?

The weight of the
World on the backs
Of just a few,
If they shrugged
Their shoulders
What would you do?

Could you take
Their place,
For the sake
Of the human race,
Or would the weight
Of the leisure class
Make your shoulders ache,
You realize your mistake,
And like Atlas, Galt
And so many to come
You shrug your shoulders
And we're led by the dumb.

Who's idea?
Not mine not yours.
Who is John Galt,
Nobody knows,
But with his disappearance
Our world whimpers,
And grinds to a halt,
Who the Hell is John Galt?

Who is John Galt?
Think on this,
Without Captains
Of industry
This boat would
Be amiss.

Looted,
by pirates
Those who
never create
Their hands
out like beggers
Their other hand
Filled with hate.

And envy,
Those who cant
Or won't write
A word, or take
A tool in their
Hand and build.

They'd rather
Steal what they
Need from others
By avarice or the
Unholy machine of
Social Beaureacracy.

Kind of sounds like our mayor. Without him, the whole government would simply collapse on itself. wink

I'm surprised you're a fan of AS. I wouldn't have expected that. dunno wine

I have to agree Conrad. Although I don't agree with all her themes, the way she frames them in her literature is always an experience. thumbs up

I remember hating her books in University. I found her very unsympathetic. I never realised until recently how popular she was in America. Perhaps that explains some of the philosophical differences between US and Europe that became clear in the Obama threads

dunno

Quite possibly. But Socialism is quite antithetical to her Objectivist philosophy so I can see where some Europeans might have a problem with her viewpoint. Like I said, I don't agree with all the things she says, but she always made me think.handshake

Unpopular in America? Go try to find one of her books on the shelf in hardback. She is more popular than she has EVER been.
My bad, I read that wrong.
