I've met loads of people in the past via the internet - and many are still friends............. but I didn't meet 'the love of my life' via the internet; she lives in another country and we both make a few sacrifices to see each other once every three weeks.
I also know what you mean by friends you meet via the internet (not just people you want to do naughty things with) - and I have friends who've travelled quite far (several thousand miles) to visit me and vice versa.
You need to set up a 'Friends of Claayer who want to meet Claayer' thingy and book up an entire local hotel and charter a plane and stuff - make an effort, dammit!

I would LOVE to do that.. (sometime)
I too over the years have meet loooads of my Internet friends not just here (and still have them as friends)
But I STILL want to be able to call them up and invite them around to play Tequila snakes and ladders.. stick a Barbie Tiara on their head (Or santa hats for the men haha) .. for dinner.. BBQs at the beach or whatever.
To call them up and say.. Oo hey can I stop by and see you? I'm just passing by your place. etc etc.
and I DO miss not being able to 'date' the people I would like to know better.
I'm sure MOST of us would be shacked up with each other here from CS..
if we were actually able to meet see and socialise with each other properly.
