I think the visa requirements stink.

I wanted to visit, but the nonsense tied to it put me off. I am required to write a biography of each of my family members, several letters begging to enter the country, along with some oaths. I have so many sisters here, and don't forget, I have nephews and a grand-nephew, as well.

Too much work!

I was in Dublin last September, and loved it. The friend I went to see and stayed with for 6 days was very nice hug

The sun even shone for most of the time I was there. The countryside was so different from where I live in Australia, particularly the sweeping grasses along the cliff sides.

And as for public transport, train travel was so easy and convenient. So cute how everything was repeated twice, both Irish and Gaelic, such as train station and street names. I could go on.

I will return one day.wine

Let me tell you something, ma brotha! grin Someday I'll get so fed up of this useless passport and get a Finnish one.

I literally had to beg the Polish embassy to hurry with my visa, for an academic trip. I was in tears, I remember. doh

It's ok to travel in the Schengen area, though. laugh

I'm only referring to why they give you such a hassle over it. I mean, a bio on every family member etc? How ridiculous. You're not applying for the secret service!roll eyes

Question: it seems people in the UK do not visit their fellow countrymen in the surrounding countries too often.

Why is that, or am I wrong?
