I learned in my lifetime that it doesn't matter where someone comes from, no matter how poor or rich they are, they will always defend their homeland and say that it's the best in the world.. And you know what? That is perfectly ok in my book.. So I don't see a reason to argue who or where is the best.. Everywhere has it's good points, you just have to look for them and have an open mind and respect..

cheers

Im sorry...but again it seems like your history is lacking a little bit. Our country has democracy but has refused to let fear control us. We live in a dangerous world and no one can warrant safety totally.

The world has always been dangerous...quite interesting you or I should say your president believe you can force peace or freedom down on others.
What has the war in Iraq done to you Americans...it means you can't travel freely anymore. It means you are hated even more than ever by these fundamentalists. Force is only creating more resistance which means people wanting to destroy you.

Is that what you want?
I have a great deal more to come but I had to pause in my
reading to answer this one....
One does not FORCE democracy down someones throat, you give
them the opertunity to choose it...after sadam was removed from
power, the people of iraq could easily have installed an
islamic theocrocy and we would have had no say in it...but they
didnt, instead they risked their lives and voted...progress is slow
but it is steady...our constitution took 27 YEARS to write, aprove
and ratify...they did it in less than 2, a gubinitorial miricle
in world terms.....Ive heard it said that our military killed
more iraqi citizens than sadam ever did...this is ABSOLUTLY
not the case..the numbers are out therefor anyone to look up
and now more ppl in iraq die at the hands of islamic insurgents
than our guys

more to come....stay tuned

Frankly, I could care less about what folks from other countries think about the United States and our government.

If you are so concerned about our laws, why don't you come live here, become a citizen.

Then you can vote and have a say in which laws are passed here.
he he...taking a page from my book huh ;)

Well my opinion about the U.N is that it's a joke.. They warn countries over and over again and make threats that never happen.. After all if you warn someone 12 times or more about the same thing and still nothing happens They will just laugh about your warnings.. The U.N. is a good idea in theory just like communism but as history has taught us it just don't work..

ok....now for my final thoughts.......
as much as I am displeased with the current administration
it was still my choice....we all see what happened under clintons
"be nice to them" policy.....so how many attacks on americans
outside a warzone since 9/11?....ZERO....ZIP ....ZILCH
All politics is corrupt...its all in the degrea of it....
the democratic party is far more for government control
of its people than the republicans....I dont have the
space or time to back that up but let me assure you that
is not a generalized "feel good" statement...its well based
in fact.
I dont generaly digest consipricy theorys well,
(and honestly that whole trailer reaks of michale moore type
thought) quite frankly i think they lead astray the youth and uninformed in this country because they are so easy to believe and comming from the hollywood/music industry base seems to give them
even more credibilty...its sad...it detracts from whats really
going on.
The people of this country will never let what your descibing
happen if we remain vigilant and pay attention to supported facts
I for one am all for safety measures...as it seems were now dealing
with people who you abslutely CANNOT negotiate with..
As for the tax thing...yes they are needed....simple...you cannot
run a country without money...and on the world scale, we pay
far less in taxes than the majority of nations of the world

lol....ahlo bruthuh
i was up at amandas for the weekend so not much time for
playin online.
I have to admit...that film is a great fear of mine....
to see that happen would be the greatest tragedy this
country has ever seen and his intentions were not
mallicious to this country....and he did raise some
valid thoughts....but like i said, I just dont see that
happening here as long as we reamin vigilant and I
dont mean michael moore's type of vigilance....just
good common sense and reasonable, well based thought

found this interesting review of the movie on the web....pretty telling already though...read on:
from Eric Lurio of the greenwich village gazzette,

"I'm afraid that the term “fascist” has been overused. For years the left has been calling anyone to the right of them fascist. I mean, if America were really fascist, do you think Aaron Russo would have been able to make this film? Of course NOT! [Jeez!]

It begins with a couple of big, fat LIES. One, that the 16th Amendment to the Constitution was never actually ratified, which it most certainly was, and that the Congress didn't have the right to establish the Federal Reserve system.

As to the second, The Supreme Court under John Marshall said that the Congress had the power to do so in McCulloch v. Maryland (1819), when it said that in regards to the Second Bank of the United States [a Fed predecessor], and the evidence that says the 16th amendment WASN'T properly ratified also states that Ohio didn't enter the Union until 1953, something that would really surprise the people who live there.

So we should take this film, which is basically a plea by a rich guy to not have to pay any taxes, with a grain of salt so big it would stick in your throat. The question is: does the entertainment value of the film make it worth seeing despite the vacuousness and fraudulence of its case?

Probably not, however, the case is mostly that there's no EXACT law, or so he says, that says anywhere in the voluminous federal tax code, y'know, the one that was supposed to have simplified everything in 1986 and since has been amended into incoherence, that you HAVE to pay taxes unless you want to.

A neat trick if you can get away with it, and he claims that some 65 million people do. So he goes around asking people in and out of government what the exact LAW makes the income tax mandatory, and nobody, it seems can find it. This is most likely due to the fact that the tax code is so incredibly convoluted that the whole thing is hard to find. In fact it's been used successfully to get people off of tax evasion charges. Good for them.

However the idea that there's some vast conspiracy of bankers that somehow took over the government back in 1913, is a lot of horseshit. In fact, he just mentions the two lies in the beginning and goes for most of the rest of the film asking besides the point questions and bitching about the IRS.

This film, and those like it, give propaganda a bad name.

Eric Lurio

Can't we just all make love, Not war!
Who really cares who invented more?
Who cares which country you were born in?
Who cares what color your skin is?
Who cares how much money you have?
Who cares what your education is?
Don't we all have feelings that can be hurt, love to give, and put our pants on the same way?

why do people keep making fuss about the security measures being put in place to forestall future catastrophic terrorist attacks? I am very sure all the victims of 9/11 wouldn't have mind a little wire tapping of their conversations, or if they were asked to carry their hand laugages in plastic bags and all that, provided they would still be breathing today, afterall if you don't have anything to hide then you should'nt have anything to fear.

What is freedom if you are not free from terrorism?

Right after 911 my wife at that time worked in the mail business in Kentucky. The anthrax scare sure slowed down mail almost to a halt. In maintenance one is taught preventative maintenance as well. The protection of one's country has to be paramount. The 911 incident and other like it changed things in the respect that it was on our own soil. It was different than just fighting "over there". On the cartoon "King Of The Hill" and other shows that play down conspiracy theories one can the lightheartedness of how television can play down some irrational thoughts. But then there was McCarthism, too. Actors and so many had to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that they weren't Communists. The cold war had a real effect on people putting up bomb shelters in their back yards. When you combine that effect with the end of the world religious aspect you can get some real varied thoughts. I would hate to live under Martial law but being a survivor I would still choose to live.
