Just to let everyone know chuck beery is the king of rock n roll, not elvis. Elvis never wrote a single song. He was dubbed the king of rock n roll because he was white and performed black music. He is not the creator of the style.professor

oops I fucked up... That's chuck Berry boys and girls. Chuck beery has a nice ring to it though. mmmmm... beer.beer

All of what the radio calls rock n roll is not rock n roll. Emo and punk stray far from rock's blues roots. Most of these bands don't even have guitar solos, a charachteristic dervied from jazz. I listen to traditonal rock n roll. If anybody wants to know what real rock n roll is, either look at the list I assembled or ask me.wine

Jimi Hendrix's eponymous 1967 debut "Are you experienced" was the most influential rock album of all time. Even though the phrase was known in the counter culture when asking if someone had dropped acid.

blue1 phoenix, Arizona USA
Hendrix was high on acid at Monterey pop, he burned his guitar because he was wacked on acid.laugh

Metallica's best album is their 1983 debut kill em all.

Metallica's 1984 effort "Ride the lightning" saw an increase in classical harmonies due to the addition of Kirk Hammett.

Getting rid of Dave Mustaine in '83 was also a big part in the move to a cleaner, more solid sound. The addition earlier of Cliff Burton in place of Ron McGovney was the first step in this direction.

Mustaine is a legend man. He wrote most of the material on "Kill em all". Megadeth is way more creative than Metallica, but Metallica is more commerically acceptable.head banger beer

I agree...but Dave Mustaine leaving was the best thing for both bands. He is too much of a personality to compete with James Hetfield. Metallica would have imploded if he'd have stayed.
