Hi. wave Wanted to introduce myself to the FL forums. Signed up the day before yesterday, so am still getting my feet wet. Anyone else near or around the area? If so, got pizza ordered, burgers on the grill and drinks in the fridge. Invite you to come on over, get comfortable, relax, have a blast and let's strike up a conversation.

Hello, Hi and welcome and Neptune Beach. Thanks for replying, how do you ladies like your burgers? Favorite kind of pizza? Any particular drink of choice?

I like em:done all the way including anchovies and prefer martinis crown and diet, bloody mary's (with zing zang) and wines.
and you???
Flanative Jacksonville, Florida USA
I'm fixing mine medium-rare and pizza with everything but anchovies. Jim, Jack, Southern Comfort, or Capt. Morgan with coke or a Corona with lime. Once in a blue moon, will have a glass of white zephindale. (can't always remember how to spell it). Can't forget the ketchup, mustard, mayo or relish.

cheers conversing

I tried sushi once, had a bad experience though. Other than that, will try anything once, maybe twice if I like it.

Guess you could say the middle of Jax, (near regency area). Most everything is 15-30 away, pending on traffic, lol. Where about in Neptune beach? Have you lived in that area most your life?
sandibeach neptune beach, Florida USA
happy fourth of july weekend!

I do not eat sushi, because I hate anythng that rice touches(don't eat pasta or noodle or rice of any kind)

I live off Penman for the past almost 6 years; am a jax native but moved to the beaches 15 years ago(ponte vedra and now NB)
grew up near the airport

Happy belated fourth of July to you in return. Hope you had a good one.

I love any kind of pasta, as well as everything in between. Liver, lima beans, and brussel sprouts I don't eat.

Not very often you run across a native. Must be nice always being near the beach. Well except when it's storming rain and during hurricane season.

On your days off or on the weekends, what interests keep you occupied? Any favorite movies or music? Do you collect anything? If you could take a dream getaway, where would you choose to go?

Hey Falantaive
it has been a few days since I have been here.
I am going to try to answer all your questions----

I am very proud to be a Jax Native, Jax used to be a great town--now has grown to large for my liking; one more reason i love the beach--still a small town but near everything.

As far as my interests go...I am always up for anything and willing to try almost anything if it gets me out to meet new people( I have a very small circle of close friends and am very introverted as most people I guess are who are online)

I love playing poker(but not necessarily for money) I play online for play money because I enjoy the game and havve played since I was 12.

I take walks on the beach and ride my Vespa around the area

i enjoy live music although I am not in to the bar scend anymore---that I did in my thirties and it was great fun but should be left for those in their 30's !

I read (romance and fiction mainly)

i avoid anything of a stressful and serious nature, just not into that.
For the most part I hang out with my family and my friends for cookouts and happy hours and simple get to togethers.

I wernt to Vegas this year for a week(nurisng conference) that was a long time 'want to do trip'recently went to Biloxi and some small towns in Georgia for weekend trips.
i love to fish, but rarely find people who want to join me. I love to go to the little jetties of A1A in Maport and I also love fresh water fishing(dont care so much for fresh water fish)
I really dont care if I catch anything---just love the experience and the anticipation of catching -the big one.
I would describe myself as a loner(homebody) but do enjoy getting outthere and having fun.
I used to love to dance but a shattered ankel a year ago now makes that impossible(my rythm was impeccable but feel I have lost it now).
hope that answered all you inquired about.
detest lima beans and liver and most 'southeren style country' foods :)

peace

Hello there Sandibeach

I also am proud being a native and agree Jax once was a great city, but a lot has gone downhill.

Shooting pool, darts, car shows, unplanned road trips, walking throughout St. Augustine, seeing a new movie in theaters to name a few. Most my friends are my coworkers, who are a wonderful group of people. I enjoy playing crazy eights, rummy and poker as well. Also play quite a bit of single player card games when I've got nothing else to do.

Live music and concerts I try to attend when I can. Recently at the Shrimp Festival, saw Jimmy Parrish and The Ocean Waves Band. Their music is almost like Jimmy Buffet's in a way, even bought their cd they were promoting. Grew out of the bar scene in my mid 20's and feel more at home in a pool hall.

Most books read relate to my job, Civil War, Titanic and cars in general.

The confrontations and drama dealt with at work is a healthy enough dosage for me.

Sounds like you had a fantastic time in Vegas. Eventually, I'd like to travel to Ca seeing what life is like on the west coast. Drove to Illinois last summer to visit a friend from grade school and absolutely loved it. Always enjoy taking trips to new cities or states looking for new adventures. I've only been fishing 3 times in my life (no joke). Really enjoyed it, but not many I know actually go. Last time I went to the jetties I was a teenager. Never have been on a boat (only the river taxi).

George Carlin sense of humor, problem solver, advice giver, easy going, fun to be around and never a dull moment are a few ways I describe myself.

I use to be an avid bowler very often, yet with having bankart repairs on both shoulders that is no more.

If you were given three wishes for anything, what would you wish for? Any favorite music you listen to most?
sandibeach neptune beach, Florida USA
I love George Carlin, but it seemed that in his later years he became a bit too radical for me. I know that it was part of his getting his point across, but but but, he was verging on crazy.

I do love stand up comics, havent' been to the comedy zone in a long time--like to watch on comedy central though.

Only been fishing 3 times??? and from Florida??? hmmm
When I say the jetties am not referring to Huegonot Park off Hecksher; I am talking about the other side of the river by Mayport--nice day to just sit out and enjoy the sun.

As far as music preferences, my favorite is Rod Stewart, Pink Floyd.
But there are so many that I enjoy listening to--prefer classic rock.Never got into country music--can't even stand to hear it play.

I don't know about the 3 wishes other than the obvious:lotto, world peace and to be a size 2(not necessarily in that order) :)

take care,

rhonda

Very cool, some of my sarcastic moments relate to him in many ways. His last few comedy specials to me really showed his true colors. Overall he was funny to say the least. Every now and again watch the Blue Collared Comedy Tour, Ellen Degenares and Rodney Dangerfield (when it's on).

Ever watched Benny Hill?

Never been to the comedy zone and always wanted to go, but never seem to have the time. I watch comedy central when there's nothing else on tv.

I know, it's disappointing to only have been fishing 3 times. I didn't know which side you meant, cut me some slack here.

Pink Floyd, CCR, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Aerosmith, some new music (mainly 90's alternative), Celtic, Queen and a lot of others. I can tolerate Country, but can't listen to it for very long.

Mine would be: 1) Take all my Automotive knowledge restoring classic cars, donating them to various charities. 2) Travel to Germany and Ireland tracing my ancestors and family history. 3) Purchase a passport hop on a cruise ship spending a week in the Caribbean to not only have fun, but also learn more about each countries history and their cultures.

If you chose to spend a night indoors, how would you pass the time?

After buying 2 tickets to an event I know you love, inviting you to join me, providing no prior plans were made would you?

Enjoy your weekend,

Kenny
