I like almost anything pre-1970 and I do not consider it to be music unless it has some meaning to the words, if any. Also must have violins and/or brass in it.
i prefer somthing with a beat makes my head bob feet move artists like daft punk david guetta tom petty korn frank sinatra santana bob marley so many good types to make you feel and enjoy while you listen. also love 80s and 90s i grew up to them.
With me it depends on what kind of mood I am in Sometimes I like nice soft music other times I like the get up and move beat. In my area they no longer seem to have the simple piano bars of days gone by. Disappointing for one who would like an evening of romance with the soft music of Dean Martin or Frank Sinatra in the back ground. How about others. Do your areas have places like that to go to anymore?
My absolute favorite genre of music would be hard rock/heavy metal. I can pretty much listen to anything but country and rap, and even those genres have a few things I like to listen to.

I've been a lifelong rock and roll guitarist so I like mostly classic rock, but that's anything from Aerosmith to ZZ Top and all the other letters in between. Lately, I've taken up karaoke and have discovered that my voice is more conducive to singing my parents' music, like an old lounge singer..Sinatra, Bennett, Darin, etc. Also, 70's and 80's ballads. Kenny Rogers, Billy Joel, etc. That video of Badfinger makes me chuckle. My last band, which broke up in January did that song. Nice to see some neighbors from Western Florida here.
