Hi all

I am hoping to move to FL next year and was hoping to get to know some people before I do.

I will probably be initially in Port St Lucie but might move up to Orlando as spent the summer there and loved it.

So where are the good places to hang out to meet real men who aren't just after a "one and done"?

Greetings from North Florida.

I love the East coast and lived in Palm Bay for a year, but the smell of the intercoastal waterway was like a sewer and Port St Lucie is at the southern end. When you go south from Port St Lucie, there is a lot of Cuban influence and crime. I will not even drive in Ft Lauderdale or Miami due to the crime rate. The West coast of Florida is one big megalopolis from Venice Beach to Chiefland and nothing but trafic lights for miles and mile except on the interstate. Grew up in St Petersburg Beach when I was younger, but all of Florida is getting out of hand population wise. Spending a vacation in an area like Orlando is one thing, living there is a different story.

Looking for real men - LOL... Most are already married and then they are cheating on the side. Sorry but this is the real world and because of them, it's people like me who have a hard time meeting woman not looking for one night stands.

Why are all the gorgeous people so far away. I visited Ireland and love it. Lived in the UK for 3 1/2 years and would have stayed if my former British wife had not abandoned love for business networking...

Come on over to Florida. We would love to have you here. Don't be dismayed by the negative comments. Florida can be a great place to live.
I'm up north in Jacksonville and a bit too old for you, but feel free to contact me for a friend when you arrive.

Florida is nice - Orlando more of a tourist town then a settle down, work, play and live kinda place. Usually you meet the men that mean something at work, school or through activities you are interested in, even at the gym. Get some interests, like scuba diving, golf, fishing, natural trail hiking etc., etc.

I have lived in the outskirts of Miami and work in Miami for over 30 years - and yes traffic is bad - considering it's a seaport and airport with millions of visitors. City of Miami Beach, is fun and entertaining. Shopping, culture, art, adventure rivals New York City. It's a new community only 75 - 80 years old. 65% of the population speak Spanish. But the tropical sunshine is worth it. Many film, tv and fashion businesses use the location - it's just a hop, skip and a jump to the Florida Keys or the Everglades.

I lived in Hollywood for 19 years. Yes it is crowded. But, there is so much to do all over FL. If you want things a little slower but still love warm weather and the beaches. Anything south of Tampa down to marco island is very nice. I live in Cape Coral. You can find a nice guy like me over here. Lol The only time I go over to see the east side is to visit relatives in Port St Lucie and Hutchinson island. Yes Port St Lucia is very nice. Not that many Haitians. I'm sure you know how to pick a nice guy. One lie leads to another :) John (Heavenhere) Cya

A Place in Florida

You can share your views as company - would be nice to have as I am a widower of 8 years in a nice area which I can show you around or I might get lucky as a long shot finding my FLAME SUNSHINE again. Jerry

Prepare yourself for hot humid weather 10 months out of the year
Prepare yourself to pay an exterminator every month for awful bugs that will get into your home
Prepare yourself to purchase produce that is wilted more often then not
Prepare yourself for hard rain storm every afternoon that lasts about 10 minutes and then the humidity is worse

I lived in Florida for three years and hated every minute of it. I now live in North Carolina and dealing with much of the same things which I hate.

The only good thing about Florida is the seafood particularly grouper which is a very tasty fish.

Hopefully someday I will move back to New Jersey.

I lived in San Diego for over 30 years where there's great weather & few insects. I moved to South Carolina a little over 3 years now.
I could put up with heat & humidity, but between the mosquito's, nat's and wasp outside plus the myriad of bugs that find their way into the house, it's extremely unpleasant in the summer.
I spent every dime I had getting as far away from my ex as I could, so relocating wouldn't be possible, it looks like I'm here for the duration.
