Where to meet women. I find that the best places are: (1) Church- What I have found is that this is a good place to meet, though you have to be careful of the fact that churches are much more rigidly segregated by race, class, and language than anywhere else in our society. It is important not to pick the wrong church. If someone who works with his hands shows up at an Episcopal church, or someone with decent grammar shows up at a Pentecostal church, people get uncomfortable. Met zero former girlfriends this way.
(2) Work. Problematic, to say the least. Since I am management, I outrank most of the women I work with. Also, a lot of them come from poor ghetto environments, so they are often looking for homies with fat gold chains and $200 sneakers. I am a white guy from a poorish but white and fairly dull suburb. To them, I am probably as strange as someone from Mars. Met zero former girlfriends this way.
(3) Computer web sites. Pretty good. Attract a lot of women who aren't meeting the right guys through their friends, family, and neighborhoods, so they are looking to broaden their search. Also, since so many people live in places where everybody is exactly like them, this is their only chance to meet people other than the people they grew up around. Met one former girlfriend this way.
(4) Singles dances and other events. Pretty good. I find that they aren't a waste of time, unless they involve driving a long distance. From my single days of the 1980s, I remember them as attracting a fairly affluent and squarish bunch- Lots of guys in dark business suits and women in dresses. I have been single for 6 months now. I don't know if they have changed. Met two former girlfrends this way.
