Online dating or trying to get to know someone is such a challenge.
if a motivated person wanted to really start a successful biz......i bet simply promoting singles mixers and special events that cater to a certain age group and then add creative and fun ways to get everyone talking to eachother, games, contests, shows, etc.......this could be very lucritive as well as serve a real need.
theme parties will a little hollywood flare.......play music that was popular when these people were kids.....a retro dance. get everyone to sign a guest list and start a data bank to send out invitations........
a good Disc Jocky and some elegent props and party favors......overhead would be minimal....but if you did it right and folks actually had fun and met people that led to love or at least being active, this could easily be a profitable small business.

There is something similar to what you suggest, I think its called lunch and stuff... you sign up and pay for the company to get you a blind date and you meet for lunch and a after lunch activity. Dont quote me on the name, I dont have time to really investigate it...just thought I would add my two cents real quick. I agree with you though, its a great idea! Kudos
Oh yes that is a good idea. The name of that thing is "It's just lunch." I hear radio commercials for it. It's more centered for busy working professionals. So yes I think thats a great idea you got. I'm a business student so if you need any ideas of where to look for anything, just let me know.
