I think they have to select you as much as you select them.The same values are a great foundation as well as trust.But,time will only tell these things.It is possible to like or love someone and not have it given back in the way we'd like to see it.My mom once told me:Keep all your friends,you'll need everyone of them.That has turned out to be so true.
Good luck on this.A good friend is better than money.All and all,it seems like you get what give...most the time.I think I've been lucky in the friend department.Thanks and good luck,again.

GOOD FRIEND
If they are there for you, like you and are GOOD for you keep em.

BAD FRIEND
If they betray you, use you for a boy magnet, cash machine, taxi or kleenex get rid of them.

I have heard a quote that may help, " i true friend knows youre not perfect but treats as if you are".
Find someone that compliments you as a person and who you enjoy being with, knowing they will be honest with you should you wear the wrong shoes...
You can laugh with them, cry with them and fight with them, but still want to have coffee with them after that fight.

As suppose the same can be said in finding the one true love we are all searching for.

To me...a TRUE friend loves you unconditionally, not love on their conditions......

I heard the quote a little differently. "A friend knows your faults and loves you anyway."

A friend will bail you out of jail a good frind will be sitting next to you saying "damn that was fun!"
