you are absolutely right, Gary. it does seem shallow when we ask for a picture, but there are physical attributes that are for some folks, but not for others. by viewing pictures (notice i use the plural), you not only can tell if someone has enough appeal for you to respond and get to know (not many of us are drop dead gorgeous; i know i'm not!), but you can see different sides of their personality. i do respond to non-photo emails, but ask them to reply with one shortly thereafter. it just would be so much easier, and fairer, if everyone would have atleast a few shots ready to upload before they register their profile. thanks for the posting.
