Nope, haven't heard anything about it.

Wasn't there a women tazered by an officer in the holding area of the police department. She was arrested for drunk driving and became a little out of control and the cop tazered her. Believe that was NorthEast Ohio but probably wrong. Thought that happened like a year ago.

She was drunk, but my question is, the bouncers said she was a problem all evening, why did they wait to put her out at closing time? And where it happened, its Howland not Warren, where were the Howland
police? It was their jurisdiction.

Whisper has a point about being cuffed and still resisting arrest. But in all reality ... that woman better had been 6'4 and 280 pounds. haha I think mace would be better than being tazered. I heard tazering can cause a person to have an accident.

the women was less than 100 lbs. I have read some unsavory stories about that police department.

Tazing promises to be the new "pepper spray". There is no doubt that police officers face a good deal more risk than most professions, but let's remember that this is by choice. We haven't had a "draft" of police in this country. Police officers are well trained, well equiped and have more than enough ways to communicate and call in assistance, when needed. Sure, there are exceptions, but these are relatively rare.

Allowing police officers to use tazers, pepper spray, and any sort of "force" is risky; mainly because of those incidents of abuse. I would have no problem with them having this power IF and only IF we would see a genuine attempt to keep it under control. Far too often we see police officers escape any serious punishment because they play the "fear for my life" card.

If everytime a police officer pulled out that tazer or pepper spray, knew they would face the 3rd degree like a shooting, we might see a lot less abuse; but when we live in a country where our own Supreme Court says It's OK for the police to kick in your door without announceing themselves and issues like Miranda law are actually called into question ... we are slipping much too close to the same kind of police state that existed in Nazi Germany, Poland, Moscow, and more than a few other Comunist states.

The attitude to "Protect & To Serve" needs to be brought back into policeing with a very strong emphasis of doing right and being seen as the good guys. I for one will no longer answer an officers questions without the presence of legal council; particularly since the courts have clearly stated again and again that it's OK for an officer to lie to you in order to conduct an investigation.

I ask you seriously, if you wouldn't trust a person showing you romantic interrests because they are a liar, why on earth would you trust anyone else????
