Casper is just a name you know.

If you hear Pluto, do you think of the Planet or the cartoon dog?

If you hear Bugs, do you think of the bunny or the gangster?

If you hear Dumbo, do you think of the elephant or yourself?

Hello everyone.wave
Why the bashing, on this young gentleman? I see everyone, is speaking up with their own opinions. The thread that leatherman66 started, has evidently hit some soft spots. This is good!
Now you have been able to speak how you feel. No harm in that!

Throwing digs, at the man's dogs name, to make your point, has done what.mumbling

This man has given his testimony, and other views. You can read them, identify with it, or not.
The threads are for anyone to create. You can choose to reply, or not.
That's what forums are for,(discussions).

The gentleman, who made his statement about not wanting anyone, to pray for him. This too, is your statement. You haven't pissed, anyone off. These are just your beliefs. Maybe, there are others, who have the same thoughts, as you.
Everyone has a choice, to do whatever, they have chosen to do. God, does not want anyone, to be pushed in to acknowledging him. He already is the great I Am. He don't need any of us, we need him.
He put his words, in context, and here we go. It's your choice, whether you want to read, or not to read. That is your question.
Then if you believe, that someday you will meet him, and more likely on judgement day, then you will have to answer to your choices, and comments.

So, I can't judge anyone, until I have walked in their shoes, but most of the world is opinionated. There is always a rebuttal, in whatever. It's still your choice again, to try to sell, whatever your opinion is.

Well, it's nice to be able to give my opinion, and it don't matter if you agree, or disagree. I can say what I want, in good taste. grin

Well we all know that things like these is what Jesus went thru when he walked the world. There are other things on which is being written in here thats written in the epistle's of John.

My feeling's aren't hurt, I just feel bad for the people that were taught wrongly or had bad run in's with those who claimed to be christian, it is said that the wolves will be dressed as sheep. So maybe, this is what they ran into.

God bless everybody

I believe everyone missed the fact that nomindgames jinxed me to death. haha

Also the lovely lady before me stated an excellent point about expressing your opinions on the forum and it shouldn't offend each other ... its just an opinion. But I beleive the sporty debate came from leatherman spouting out bible quotes. I believe that is when the forum became spicey. When your making a comment about a movie ... it is an opinion but if you quote bible then it becomes preaching hence the sporty debate. Let's test the theory ...

Here are bad quotes of the bible which could make one believe god is nuts or the writer is nuts.

"Happy those who seize your children and smash them against a rock" Psalms 137:9

"When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If the slave survives for a day, he is not to be punished since the slave is his property" Exodus 21:20-21

"Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their fathers; Lest they rise and possess the earth and fill the breadth of the world with tyrants" Isaiah 14:21

"He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him takes care to chastise him Proverbs 13:24

"if a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her and he will never be allowed to divorce her" Deuteronomy 22:28-29

"the Lord has made everything for his own ends, even the wicked for the evil day" Proverbs 16:4

Okay, Maybe I was wrong about you. At least you picked up the good book or someone helped you on it. I never downed anything on you in the first place. But the old saying is; "If The Shoe Fits". Kinda like if/when you go to church and the preacher gives a sermon that seems to be all about (or pointed at) you. It's not pointed at you but, if you received it like it was, then maybe there was a message there somewhere that was meant for you.

Give me a day or two and I will give you the meaning to each one of the verses you put down. See, I only read the King James version, I need the "ye, thee, doth and likes". Sometimes you have to read the verse before and after to get the whole meaning.

I will say it was wrong of you to take this thread into anothers thread and you know what I'm saying.

Point proven .... believe there were 3 "sporty" comments towards my person in leatherman's return response.

The man upstairs gave we humans a brain with which to think, evaluate, and form our own judgements. Hiding from the controversial only weakens one's faith. Faith exists because it is tested again and again and those that are faithful grow stronger from these tests of faith. If we were not intended to be tested, evil and temptation would not exist.

When you project your fear upon others and direct them to avoid that which tests thier faith, you tell them that you do not trust their judgement or their faith; which also can cause them to question your own faith, your judgement, and ultimately your motivation.

Ignorance is often used as a tool. Keeping a population unaware of truth may be successful in manipulating the population for short periods of time, but in the long run they will discover the truth and those that withheld the truth then become untrusted and dispised. If you doubt this just look back in history at some of the most evil forms of government and the tools and methods they used to try to control their citizens. Burning books, outlawing authors, supressing the concept of free speech or expression are all means of control and they don't last.

The greatest battles won are the battles that we participate in. I would encourage every adult to see this film, then write their opinions and send them to both the creators of the film as well as to those companies that might buy and distribute the film. You will be able to give your own unbiased opinion and as every marketer knows, a single voice represents roughly 7% of the buying public. Enough negative voices eventually persuade the distributor to buy or not buy the film.

Hey gang,

I watched this movie everyone and with my eight year old daughter...and there was no reference that I felt was bad. I'm sorry but then we could say Chronicles of Narnia was bad. We could also say that there are many other movies unfit. However, they gave Shrek a PG rating. However, Beowulf got a PG-13 rating. Now if you want to bash a movie....Let's talk about Beowulf because that is definitely not fit for children. People fight naked and Grendel actually chews up a soldier and spits him out....

....and you all are worried about The Golden Compass? It is a fantasy.
i'm sorry i discriminate against no one i'm a wiccan and i believe he has a right to make a movie like this but i don't agree if it thrashes the christans if its puttiing a bad image about them then ok otherwise there shouldn't be a problemdunno
