I have adopted a small kitty from the humane society, had her three weeks needed to take her to the vets for her rabie shot. they examined her and said something was really wrong with her, something was really big inside her tummy, The vet tried to get in touch with the humane society, But they did not return the calls. The doctor told me he wanted to do an exploratory surgery. At no cost to me...He did and what he told me was very sayed he said when those young people spayed these animals they are leaning how..anyway the damaged her kidney and the doctor could not save her kidney so they had to take it out this is very sad and this can be done to these little babys. What do you think. My heart hurts for these little creatures of the shelters. They also spayed and neuter so very young...And as for the vet bill Will he never charged me a dime...

I adopted a rescue animal while living in california, a Terrier mix named Daisy. She was 1 day from being put down. We picked her up, and she was in terrible shape. She had kennel cough, and was obviously beaten by her previous owner. She was 2 years old at the time, and was scared to eat, even. She was not housebroken, and had strange, felt-like scabs on her nose.

After several months, she is a happy, well adjusted dog (although she still has a hard time with going potty outside). And to think that she was treated so terribly for so long, and was nearly put to death almost breaks my heart. I am glad that we had the opportunity to turn her life around. It is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done.
