Normally, it's because they're bored with what they have.

gee ty, i guess not every girl wants to be showered with love an affection, and get taken out whenever they want or have a picnic under the stars. but then again guess one of my friends was more appealing

I didn't mean to offend you, if I did that is.
But it does seem to me you may have laid it on a tad too thick, perhaps.
Being a gentlemen with a big heart can attract any woman if you do it right, but it requires a presence of subtle charm... or charming subtlety, rather, to keep them dwelling upon that desire to come back for more. Otherwise, you're bound to smother her, along with the good intentions you once possessed in the first place for some reason or another.

Though, I'm not one to talk.

Alot of it has to do with their own insecurities. The look at sex as a way of getting attention. Although this does not justify cheating, it's a small bit of insight.

I'm not trying to justify cheating, but I hardly think it has anything to do with someone else's feelings...I mean...that seems somewhat of stupid reason.

I mean think about it...

A person has the oppurtunity to cheat, why would or wouldn't they?

A: I better not do this, because it would hurt Soanso's feelings.

The flaw with this idea is that the only thing holding the person back is the very idea of the person they are in a relationship with and their feelings. This means that all they have to do to be with the person they were about to cheat with is break up with their current person...that means they really didn't like the person they were with in the first place.

B: "In the Moment"

This one is a classic.... people say they cheated because they were "in the moment." This one's funny no matter what situation any person is in they still have their own free will to dominate their decision...making the whole idea of "in the moment" sound like a cop out to me.

C: Bored

I suppose this one could be true for some...but again...if they were actually bored, why wouldn't they break up and find someone else?

I don't know why someone would cheat...probably because I never have...but maybe some decisions people can't always reason.
